Birth Name
I was interested in using her birth name too, if her birth mother chose it, but I heard that sometimes the foster mother chooses their names. Does anyone know? It's funny because my name is Janet and her birth middle name is Janeth.........God knew........

I like Maya Jane (especially considering how close it is too her birth middle, and because it is similar to yours).
Does part of her birthmother's first or middle names appeal to you (I looked at that myself because I knew for sure that would have some connection to the birth mother). D.

I decided to name my daughter Maya Pilar (after my sister, Pilar, who passed only 11 days before Maya was born). My older daughter also shares the middle name Pilar -- so it will be a nice connection for them.
Her birthname is Azucena -- which I think is beautiful, but may not be easily pronounced by many Americans. I have decided, however, to use Azucena as a 2nd middle name. So her name will be Maya Pilar Azucena Someone else mentioned Maya Elena. . . which I like. Good luck and let us know what you decide.
