Just heard about these and went out and got one. Apparently, it's the only FAA-approved device for securing infants and toddlers that have lap seats. It is for in-flight use only (not take offs or landings...not sure why) when 90% of turbulence occurs.
Has anyone used this before and was wondering if it works well?

We used this on our pickup trip with Brooklyn. I have heard others say it isnt for takeoff or landings but Brooklyn had it on for both on a couple different planes...and nothing was said. It works if the child is sitting on your lap too. You can put it through your own seat belt plus there was plenty of wiggle room!
I loved the extra security that if we hit turbulance that she wouldn't go flying out of my arms.....Beth

We brought one along in case of turburlance, but didn't end up using it. Our friends gave it to us, and had used it on quite a few ocasions. They really liked it.

I bought one for NYC cabs since they are exempt (and won't always pull over if they see you have a carseat). I plan to bring it to GC for the same use. There is a reason that they suggest you don't use it for take off or landing, they often ask you to remove a baby from a bjorn type carrier for the same reason.

We used this once, on one of our trips to Russia.
I sorta liked it, BUT, if you have a very active baby, they may not like to sit on your lap facing out for very long! My son always wanted to turn around and climb on me, etc and there's not that much leeway of course.

We have one and have already used it many times!(seven or eight flights)
I think it is nice added security if you are going to carry your baby on your lap! You never know when unexpected turbluence will occur. It's also nice to have if your baby is sleeping, and you fall asleep, you dont have to worry about him/her rolling or falling off from your lap. ![]() My son seems to be a sleeper on the plane, BUT he is starting to get more active, the last time we used it was during the holidays. I'm not sure how much longer he will be able to use something like that. He's pretty active now ![]()
