Adoption rates at hotel?

I spent way too much money on my hotel when I visited in November. I was thinking about checking aroung and comparing rates. I just called Marriott and Clarion (toll free US numbers, not direct) and both told me they don't offer adoption rates. Is there a trick to getting an adoption rate? What rates are people paying? Do either hotels include a breakfast with the rate?

I'd like to know too. I haven't the slightest clue what any of the rates are and I'm wondering. What did you spend in November? Are there seasonal rates there? Could it be cheaper the next time you go? I've been guessing $100.00 a night, but I'm clueless as to how much they actually charge there. Anyway, I'll be watching your post to see what everyone says. Thanks for bringing the subject up.

Trent at Velocity Tours can get you reduced rates at the Marriott and at the Westin, but the rooms he can get at the Marriott are nicer. I think it's a better package all around over there. Google Velocity Tours and you will find him. We used him to book our airfare for both our trips and our hotel on one trip and he did an outstanding job. Lots of people on the forum have used him.

Some agencies have agreements with hotels that let their clients stay there at discounted rates. Ask your agency if they have this.

adoption rates

our agency had a corporate rate for the marriott. we called the hotel directly, not the 800 number and they gave us this rate, which was lower than we were quoted when we went online to marriott.com or called the 800 number

Trent (Velocity Tours) can also get you as low as $55 per night at the San Carlos hotel, this includes breakfast and the airport shuttle. We loved our stay there, its a smaller hotel but really, really nice. After 6 trips to Guatemala we paid anything from $55 - $110 per night depending on the hotel and the room we had, the San Carlos was the best bang for our buck, plus its only 2 minutes walk from the Embassy.

You may want to check with your agency and see if they are able to book your room for a corporate rate. Ours did this (at the Radisson) and it was quite a bit less than the posted "adoption" rate. And it included everything in the adoption package, like free breakfast and a room on the family floor (with crib, stroller, kitchenette, carrier, baby tub, etc.).

Vel. Tours

We went with Trent at Velocity Tours too. I went to the website and called the number and asked for him. He actually was the one to answer the phone.

We got "pink" on a Thursday night and left on Sat. Being at the last min. I thought we'd pay more. We paid 550.00 for airfare and 90.00/night at the Marriott. This included the buffet breakfast which was delicious! We LOVED this hotel. Very nice, staff EXTREMELY helpful and they will do whatever to help you and make you comfortable.
