We've been home for over a week now. Bryce was sick in GC, and we had to make a couple of visits to the pediatrician and a trip to the emergency room. Dr. Montiel said he thinks it was rotovirus although the lab work was negative. She had lost quite a bit of weight - she only weighed 13.8 on Jan 9th which is what she weighed on her 6 month check up on Dec. 7th. We changed her nickname from "Brycie-poo" to "Miss Poopy pants"! I must have changed her diaper 20 times a day for two weeks. I am happy to say that Miss Poopy pants is feeling MUCH better now! She is gaining weight and happy. What an awesome baby she is! People stop me continuously commenting on her hair. She is just adorable.

Our computer crashed right after we returned home, so I don't have any pictures to post yet. We had a wonderful pick up trip - aside from the diarrhea issue - and did some sight seeing. We met a lot of really wonderful parents. A nice couple from Indiana let the girls and I tag along with them after my dh and boys came home.

Our flight home went smoothly except for the diaper changing in the plane bathroom. We flew to Miami with BrandiS. I hope you all made it home, Brandi!
Bryce didn't eat very well on our entire trip. We assumed it was because she wasn't feeling well. One day last week, she grabbed my poptart and took a bite! We realized that she wasn't eating because she HATES baby food not because she was sick! The only baby food she will eat is stage 2 desserts - vanilla custard, fruit medley, dutch apple, etc... Other than that, she eats eggs, grits, mashed potatoes, smashed peas and green beans, mac&cheese, crackers, etc.... She also goes nuts when she sees a can of soda. We probably have her teenage foster sisters to thank for that! Anyone else's infant refuse to eat baby food?

Bryce is very content and the pediatrician says she is healthy and on target. She can roll over, has a lot of leg strength, and can now sit up. She is very sweet natured and so easy. She is winning the hearts of not a few people in Florida!

It was nice meeting so many of you at the Marriott. I was SO ready to come home, but my stay would not have been tolerable without talking with all of you.

Were you at the Marriott? We were there then. Anyway, our foster mom brought us jars of babyfood - apples and pears. She totally hated them! I really wondered why the foster mom brought them when it was clear she either had never had them or really didn't like them.

MomtoC&C ~ Yes, we were at the Marriott. I was the one with the baby that had a stinky diaper most of the time!

I was told the r.virus is just rampant this year in GC, so much so that Sol Ana had to be vaccinated...at just under 9lbs at the time they were worried she would get dangerously tiny with it. Many babies were in the hospital with it.

I'm glad she is better, nothing is harder than having a sick baby even more so when you are away from home. And changing a blow out in an airplane is not exactly easy I would think. The poor sucker that came in after you...that would be a punch in the face!

She is such a darling girl I am glad she is home with her family!

Welcome home! It's good to hear from you Marcy. I had been watching for your post, I thought you should be back from pick up. I'm glad things went fairly well, (except for the poopy problems). It's good to know Bryce is feeling better now. I can't wait to see some pictures of your gorgeous little Bryce!!
