Get a copy of "The Tightwad Gazette" by Amy Dacyczyn. She had a monthly newsletter about ten years ago, then retired. But all of her newsletters are now in book form. I think there are three of them. I've used it for years. It has some great advice. Some is a bit out there, but most of it is useful.

One way that I found to make extra money is selling wholesale items (mostly baby stuff) on Ebay. I got a tax I.D. number online (paid about $25) which allows me to buy wholesale. I've made some good extra cash to help w/the adoption, plus some of the wholesale stuff I keep for my baby to wear

I also know a stay-at-home mom who is a medical transcriptionist. She didn't have to pay for the training and now earns pretty decent doing this at home!
