Hi,

I am leaving for my visit trip on Thrusday and I have no idea what clothes to bring. Do people wear jeans there?

Thanks for the help

Not really, I didn't see many people in jeans. I took a few long skirts, capri pants, a pair of nice pants. I also took a few blouses and a sweater or two. Not too casual...maybe "dressy casual".

Good luck and happy packing!

I was always told "business casual" when in public. They dress up a little more than we do. Around the hotel, we did wear jeans but when going out, we wore slacks and sweaters. That being said, on our pickup trip, the airline lost our luggage (until the day we were leaving) and DH and I had no clothes. Thank God they didn't lose the girls' suitcase. We went down to the gift shop and bought Guatemalan shirts. We wore big t-shirts in the room and when we went out, we put on the slacks we came in and the nicer Guatemalan handmade shirts... even wore them to the Embassy. Everything was fine.

Enjoy your visit!

Jeans

I wore nice jeans every where. My husbands friends who live in Guatemala City told us before we came to just wear jeans and bring a pair of nicer slacks.

I'd say you are safest with khakis and nice tops

Business casual. No shorts or really short sleeve tops.
