No news here. We requested Migel get circumsized, and our agency said they will tell us as soon as its done!
I am hoping to hear we have our I 171 H within the next two weeks here. I think I said that 2 weeks ago to. Hmm

she was born on 8/21.

we are waiting on match info. (our dd at home has the same birthparents there so we are confident of the results which makes it nice).

also we are in fam court and one of the sw-ers that are on vacation from 11-15 to 12-15.

should be ok as long as when she gets back our file is not on the bottom of her heap.

meanwhile we are excited to start the wait for PA.

Hi Erin,
I hope that your I171H comes soon. I just got my new one (I was able to accept my referral on my previous approval for my son's adoption earlier this year -- they're valid for 18 months, and mine was still valid, but expiring this month, so phew!).

I also got some photos taken by my friend who went down there. I'm going to attach one. Have a great week, everyone!

Erin, Good Luck. I hope your 171H is here this week! We only had our fingerprints done 12/1 and I am already counting! My husband is going to drop off all of our paperwork in NYC to get authenticated tomorrow. We are going in Thursday to pick up and then will be able to send our Dossier to our agency. Then all we wait on in the 171h...I am hoping that the holiday season will help pass the time. Originall I thought we would be done by now. IT is amazing how slow things are going! Good luck!

Our HS should be at USCIS by the end of the week, and I am waiting for the SOS to send back my POA so I can overnight it to the embassy to be legalized.

Which I hope to have that done by the end of the week also.

OK I need to Vent for a second.
So the Dr's office messed up on on Physical letters, where it said in the example letter his/her, instead of typing out his or her they typed out his/her and circled the right one.

The agency said that may cause problems down the road, so I nicely called the DR's and asked them to be re-typed, the nurse I spoke to last week was cool about it she said to call back with a deadline of when we needed them, so I called this morning and the other nurse answered and she pretty much threw a hissy fit, because she typed them and the example should of been more specific.

So anyways after about 15 minutes on the phone with her she said that she would re-type them.

So then I called DH (poor guy) and I was like hello you are a nurse, an RN surely you have typed up a physical letter before.

Ok I understand that it takes a bit of time, but the DR is only in their office in the afternoon, so I mean come on already!

DH said he couldn't belive that she was the way she was, he has went to this dr since he was a little guy...I told DH that from now on we are switching to the other DR that I go to for my Glucose Intolerance he's also a PCP.

oh and it's only Monday...

General Question: So when after you accepted your referral, or when after you accept your referral, do you plan on putting your Baby's Room together?

I am slowly getting all the dossier stuff together. I told all the people who I asked to write us reference letters to get them to us by the end of December, and now I"m wishing I'd said sooner! I'm sure it will be fine.

How long does authenticating the dossier take and where do you take it to do so?

We had our 1st HS visit right before Thanksgiving, and it was such a piece of cake! I couldn't believe it. We have one more visit next week, so I imagine I'll have the dossier complete by the end of this month, and I'll be able to send in the HS to INS.

We told my side of the family (incl. Grandma, aunts, uncles and cousins) at Thanksgiving and everyone is so excited!

Hello Everyone!

It is hard to believe that December is already here! This month will be a fast one. Last week we recieved the last of the SoS seals on our dossier! Whew... one more step done -- now everything is off getting authenticated.

Erin & Kerry - we're with you and a lot of others on the I171h wait - hope yours comes soon!

Laura Jean - hope your wait in FC is a short one! It has to be hard knowing that your SW is on vacation.

Bizzie - we had the most fun getting our medical certs from the Dr's office. One thing that helped us was we pre-typed the letter for the Dr and took it to their office. Then all they had to do was copy it onto their letter head, sign and notarize it. Even that became a hassel . Good luck - hope you get that back from them soon!

Marjorie - she looks adorable! Congrats on getting your new I171.

Ani - the authentication doesn't take long once you've gotten all of your documets together and certified by the appropriate Secretary of States. PM me if you want and I can give you a web site with some helpful information regarding Consulates, SoS's, and so forth (they also do a pay for service so I don't think I can post the link here).

Kerry - Hope you will have your 171 soon!! I know how frustrating this phase is!!

Bizzie - I can certainly sympathize with your frustrations at your dr! Mine had to redo the letter 5 times and when I finally picked up the last one last week after being called to say it was ready, it was not signed or notarized! I waited right there while it was done. I hope to start the baby's room as soon as I have a referral. If it is a boy, he is just going to get Nathan's room and Nathan will move into the other room - so actually I will fixing up Nathan's new room. If it is a girl however, she will get the other room which I will then fix up for her. Can't get started yet! How about you?

Ani - Getting the dossier authenticated takes anywhere from a few days to a week or so, depending on the office and how many documents you have. You will either go to a consulate in your area or the Embassy depending on where your docuements originated. Check with your agency for this information.

I am still waiting on the draft of my HS so I can complete my dossier and then the wait for 171 begins!! I was hoping to have a referral by the end of the year, but that is looking less and less likely!

Marjorie - your little girl is beautiful...congrats on getting you rnew 171H.

Well Dh and I decided that we wanted to start getting the babies room ready, not completely done, just maybe his crib and bedding so that we can send pictures of it to the FM that way he can get familiarized with it.

Good Gosh you would've thought we said we were gonna remodel the whole house, so many people had "things" to say about it.

It upset me cause with the IF we have been waiting to do this for 4 years and it should be no onese decision but ours.

So last night we put his crib together and put the bedding in it so that I could take pictures.

DH and I had a really good time shopping for everything and putting everything together, but in the back of my mind everyone's comments kept registering and kinda took away from that.

Then we decided to finifh it as we go.

Well we got great news last week- A referral of a baby girl!!!!! We should be get the POA today or tomorrow. We are also waiting for pictures. Unfortunatley our attorney does not have a digital camera, so he does it the old fashioned way and gets them developed. We should hopefully be getting those pictures today or tomorrow.

I hope everyone waitng for their 171-H gets that most important piece of paper very soon.

Bizzie - Sorry about the problems you are having with your doctor's letter. That seems to be a big promblem for a lot of people. I don't understand why it is so hard for some doctor's offices to get this done. Also, I'm sure your baby's room is just perfect. I know it's hard, but don't worry about what ever one else is saying, just enjoy setting up the baby's room the way you and your husband want.

Ani - It depends on the Consulate, but we sent ours FedEx overnight to SOS and then on to the Consulate, and then on to our agency, and I believe our agency received it in about 1 to 1 1/2 weeks, so not to long.

Laura Jean - I hope you get DNA results soon, and that you are at the top of list when the FC social worker comes back from vacation.

Well, it seems like not much has happened with us. We had our homestudy done last Wednesday. Our agency said they would have it expedited since we already have a referral. The social worker said that she has up to 30 days to turn it in, and that she'll try to get it done in three weeks. I'm not sure that one week off of her maximum time is expediting, especially since we'll be the ones to pay extra fees for long foster care, but what can I do?

We officially got our referral package last Friday that had their pictures and birth certificates and the such. It was exciting, though seeing the fees laid out like that was definitely sticker shock! The agency has already contacted me today, asking when we're planning on paying the lawyer! We sent questions to the agency on Friday about the fees and such, and they hadn't answered them yet, so I'm not sending any more money yet. I think the agency is just getting confused, because my contact at the agency called in sick today.

Lastly, we went to church on Sunday and checked out the 3 year old room (we hadn't expected we'd be jumping right in there). It was really cool, and we're going to volunteer in there to start getting more experience with toddlers. Then, when our kiddos get home, we'll stay in there with them for awhile.

I'm supposed to start my dossier this Wednesday. I've already pulled a lot of stuff together, so hopefully it'll be done within a week, and ready to be authenticated!

I have ordered the copies of our marriage lic and the I600A form. We are still waiting on our child abuse and crimimal background checks to come back. We mailed them the second week in October. I am really getting frustrated. We can't finish our homestudy until we get them back. I am glad to see evryone else making some progress. I hope everyone has a great Christmas. I will keep all of you in my prayers this holiday season. Won't Christmas be great next year with all our little one's home!!!

Well seems as if my state fingerprints are MIA. Wednesday we are going to have our USCIS fingerprints taken and Emma is going to spend the night with my grandparents (this is a first for me) hopefully I don't have a breakdown and have to go get her at 1am LOL. Please pray my fingerprints are located? I don't know how they got lost they were done electronically oh well maybe they are out in computerland
