How many of you now have or have had the 75 year old PGN attorney. Please share your story. We have been kicked out 3 times and have been in and out of PGN since August 2nd. We were re-submitted for the 4th time on November 11th. We have been told that he is notorious for kicking cases out at least 3 times. I am beyond frustrated. Something needs to be done about him. We have heard that he has worked in PGN the longest.

I just pray that if you have this attorney, your case is approved soon.

I am starting to get the impression that he is anti-adoption and that is really sad.

This is what I am told by our agency and other things I have picked up along the way. There are 3 PGN reviewers that create problems. They were all 3 fired and sued to get there jobs back. They won and were reinstated. The older man is 75 years old and is in very close with 2 other reviewers. Evidently they are his trainees. I know that I don't have the 75 year old man, but I have one of his buddies. I am told they always kick cases out 2 times and sometimes go for a 3rd. My agency said, though, that they have never had a 4th. I really hope this is the case. Look at my timeline, Martha, I know EXACTLY how you feel. Like I said, I obviously don't know this first hand, it is just what I am told. This is CRAZY!! Hope you hear good news soon. I know my reviewer takes 3 1/2 weeks to review. That is just terrible and frustrating!! How do you know who your reviewer is? Are agencies or the attornies privy to this information? I pray that you both get out SOON!!

I think the attorney knows who the reviewer is, at least after a KO. We seemed to have a nit-picky reviewer. The attorney referred to her as "her", so was not this same man. Maybe she is one of the 3 notorious ones though.

Oh, no. I so feel for you. Why, why do people who oppose adoption get jobs doing them? I know, I know, it's not for us to question. I'm so sorry. I have no idea who my reviewer is yet and I'm in total fear that it's one of these people. I really hope that they want to clear their desks for Christmas and let you out. Who knows, maybe their heart will grow three sizes or something.

Yikes..3 were reinstated and they don't sound very good..we had 5 previo's on the Guat side and 1 on our side..KO 2x..hopefully your agency is correct that you won't get anymore KO's..keep us posted!

Well, that explains alot.

I MUST have had the 75 year old reviewer.

Because in addition my attorney muffing nearly every piece of paper he touched, there had to be some reason I spent 5 months in PGN, getting 8+ previos (I actually lost track), and 4 to 6 kickouts (there may have been a few in there I didn't know about...)

We had 4 kickouts and we did not even have this guy- I think a lot depends on just how well known your attorney is. I hope you are done with the kickouts!

I know it is frustrating to be kicked out of PGN multiple times and I am very sorry for those who have or are experiencing this, but I really want to say that how "well known" your attorney might be really does not matter if your attorney turns in clean files. Many attorneys have become "well known" for repeatedly turning in files that are a complete mess.

If your attorney has never turned in a file before, but the file is perfect, you should not have a problem.

I can tell you with my situation the attorney did have alot to do with it. He was very well respected and was known for his perfect paperwork. I was kicked out twice and both times my attorney went right to the pgn reviewer and spoke to him ( now I am not sure what he said) but both times the reviewer backed off. So I am not sure if you would call them true kickouts because I was never required to do anything. I still got Juliet home at 4.5 months old and I am sure if it was not for my attorney she would have been home alot later.

This all sounds very awful. First, recently we hear of an Embassy employee who is "anti-adoption" and now there are PGN reviewers with a chip on their shoulder. Yikes...how do these people do what they do if they are so against the process for which they work?

Hold your breath, keep your faith, and that's about all you can do. Praying for all.

I know we don't have the 75 year old man, but we must have one of his cohorts, if one of them is a woman! I have marveled many times about how seemingly random PGN can be with some people getting out in 9 days and others 5 months! Where is the structure and objectivity?!!

I had this reviewer. We were kicked out 3 times and a week later had our PGN decree. They say he's a picky reviewer, but once you get past him you can count on not being kicked out again. It is possible for you to get past your reviewer and get kicked out again before the final "sign off." So, don't worry. You're almost there!

I'm so sorry for you I know how you feel on this one unfortunately, I accepted my referal about a week before you and just recently got out of PGN. I found out that I had the awful reviewer who apparently is very much against single adopters as well. We had at least 4 previos and finally got out on Nov 10th. Of course my attorney is also a mess and has provided misinformation throughout - but that's another story. Supposedly the attorney finally filed a complaint with the head of PGN stating that what 'Senior Crusty' was doing was against PGN policy as they are supposed to give a list of all corrections required on the first k/o and also that he was discriminating based on the fact that I am single which is illegal under the Guatemalan constitution and requested that the case be approved or re-assigned to a different reviewer. It would appear that that letter was what got my file approved. Perhaps you could request that your attorney stop playing the reviewers games and file a similar complaint. I am so sorry that you are dealing with this it is so heartbreaking... I will be hoping you and all the other long-term waiters- get good news soon - like TODAY!
