What were your concerns re. adoption
My DH and I are discussing starting the adoption process next year in hopes to save money this year. I am also pregnant and would like our newborn to be a little older when we come home with our little angel.
I have been discussing the adoption with some friends and family and mostly everyone says "what if you feel differently about the adopted child than your two biological children." I have to say I am not too concerned about this. I believe that all 3 children are MY children no matter how they come to me.....However was this a concern for any of you? Did it take awhile to bond with your adopted angel over your biological angels? Lastly did you have any other concerns about adopting? It kind of concerns me that I kind of see things different than others and I don't have many concerns about it. I believe all three children would grow up as sisters and brothers (or sisters) and all three would be happy...maybe I'm just being naive and this is why i'm asking. Thanks ![]() |

We have three bio children and three adopted and I can honestly say as soon as they were in my arms(and actually sooner) I felt they were my children and I was instantly bonded to them.

We have one bio dd age 10 and Marisol from Guatemala age 2.5. I can honestly say the moment I held her I felt she was mine. I feel no difference between them. They are both my daughters, God just got them to me in different ways.

Hi Carmela's Mom,
I think it's great that you don't have the same concerns for your love of your children as some of your friends and family. It may be that adoption would not be right for them, but maybe it is for you! I'm sure their comments of concern came from very good intentions, but I believe if you feel in your heart of hearts that something is right for you, than it is! Good luck! |
