Receipt number timeframe for CoC
I did it. I applied for a CoC for my #1 and applied for the name change on the CoC for #2. I mailed both to my local USCIS office November 4 and my checks were cashed November 10. I'm waiting on a receipt number so I can track the process. Can somone tell me how long it took to get the receipt number? I'm afraid I'm in a catch 22 - can't call about my paperwork because I don't have the numbers, don't have the numbers because no one knows where the applications are... Input anyone? Thanks!

I mailed the name change COC in April and just received my receipt in the mail today. I have not checked the status yet so I am not sure how much longer I have to wait. I live in PA.

Thanks for the info. 6 months or so for the receipt? I thought the whole process was that long. Maybe, for you, this means the CoC will be arriving shortly? I hope so. Anyone else with a timeframe?
