She IS gorgeous. And what a blessing for her to have your support in her life. I know the feeling must be mutual for you, since you must love kids very much to have chosen to be part of her life. Thanks to you for loving her, though I know you aren't asking for such. That's one less child to go to bed wondering if they are loved and cared for. We can't do it all, but we can do it for one, and it makes a difference to that one.

Have you read the story of the starfish? Here's a loose translation. A man is on a beach which is just covered with stranded starfish. He starts throwing them back into the sea. Another man asks him why he is bothering, doesn't he know that around the corner is another beach just the same, littered with starfish? It's not going to make any difference, he tells him. The first man picks up a starfish and throws it back into the sea. "It makes a difference to that one." And so it is with loving just one more person.

Thanks everyone. Amanda has brought such joy into our life as well. Abby adores her. Amanda is a great big sister to Abby. I just hate it when her mom treats her the way she does.

We were in the dressing room getting ready when Amanda throws something over the door for me to put into her bag. She accidentally calls me mama. She has done this several times by accident. Her mom was standing right beside me.. . I wish you could have seen the look.

Amanda asked me one day did it make me mad when she calls me mom? Sometimes I think she wants to do that. I am not sure. I have told her she could call me mama Beth or whatever she wanted to. Most of the time it is just Beth. But, when she is talking to friends she refers to us as her mama and daddy. Bobby is the first father figure she has ever had that she remembers. Her biological father died this past Christmas but she had not seen or talked to him since she was 3 years old.
