Hi!
A special welcome this week to Ransom12 from Minnesota. ![]() It seems like our list of active people is getting smaller. Just remember that what matters is that you keep moving, not how far or fast you go. I know it can be hard sometimes to see how much farther you have to go. But keep at it! Try to focus, instead, on how far you've come. And celebrate each day that you get out there and do something healthy. I also have a question for people in the north -- especially those who already have children -- what do you do about strolling with your children in the winter? I have a coat/hat/mittens for our son (who is 9 months old); plus we have a snowsuit; plus we have a down "sleeping bag" cover that goes with his stroller; plus I've ordered a plastic wind cover for the stroller. But that said....and setting aside any possibility that he'll swelter ....is there a certain temperature under which you would never take your child out for more than getting in/out of the car/buildings? Is there a certain time for which you wouldn't take them out in the cold? My concern is that his face will still be exposed. I plan on asking our pediatrician as well, but thought I would check with you all, too. Thanks! Here's the first half of the list...

We have 27 miles to add. Thanks
I have thought about the question of walking in the winter as well because our little guy loves the stroller. The best thing I came up with was Mall Walking, there is usually milege posted on the wall for most indoor malls so you can see how many laps it takes. It's not nearly as nice as walking out side, but at least you don't have to worry about the temp.

Maybe I've gotten around 5 miles in?? Wow that's really bad... I'm just so busy with Jay these days. I do bring him for walks, but it's nothing like my old routine!
Thanks for keeping up this thread ![]()

My husband's out of town for four days, so I haven't gotten to updating the list. Although there aren't a lot of updates right now, I'm going to take advantage of as much of my son's nap time as possible right now to lie down myself. So I just want to bump this up.
Please post updates here and I will post a new list today or tomorrow. Devora

I live in Iowa and I know I would never take my soon to be daughter on a walk whenever a day comes that the minute I step outside my face freezes and I can't stand the piercing cold -20 degree wind!!!! As long as I am comfortable I would imagine my baby would be as well.
