Getting very frustrated!
You all are going to get so sick of hearing from me. I got a call from my agency on Friday afternoon telling me that my lawyer's assistant and another person went to the embassy to follow up on the pink page and were told that the embassy had all the paperwork that they needed but no pink page was issued. I was told to call the embassy on Monday morning and ask for the adoption unit to see if I can get any information as to the status of the pink page. I feel that I've been more than patient throughout this whole process but this little girl needs to be with her forever mommy by Thanksgiving. I just can't understand what the problem could be now. The Cable 37 was sent at least 2 weeks ago and that was all the embassy told me they needed so why wasn't the pink page issued?? I really pray that no one has to deal with all the trauma that I've had to go through. I really don't think I could bear having another holiday without her. I have an international calling card so I'll call in the morning from work to see if I can find anything out. I'm tired of crying myself to sleep, feeling defensive when anyone asks me how the adoption is going, etc. My sister said I should make up a story to explain what I've had to go through to get her such as: Once upon a time there was a very nice woman who really wanted to be a mommy very badly but the wicked facilitator didn't have a heart and didn't care if the beautiful little princess ever found a forever mommy....
Does anyone have any theories as to what the problem might be now?? Thanks for letting me vent. Karen |

Hi there! I can only imagine how frustrated you must be feeling right now. I'm sorry, I can't help with this since I'm so new to the whole thing, but just wanted to say that you and your family are in my thoughts! I hope and pray your little girl will be with her mommy before she knows it!

Karen, I had a holdup at the end too as Consular Services and DHS couldn't agree if they had my new fingerprint cable. Has the Embassy verified that they have the pink request? I am only asking since you seem to be unhappy w/the facilitator. It might be worth checking if they really have the paperwork? Have you called your Senator? They seem to be able to get responses sometimes.
I am hoping that it is a matter of days until you get that pink slip! Hang in there!

the most common problem with getting pink...
The most common problem I've seen with getting pink issued (and what we had happen to us) is that they will say they don't have your Cable 37 from your local USCIS office.
If this is the case, it should be a VERY QUICK AND EASY fix. Just call or fax (whichever your local office prefers) your local USCIS office and ask them to resend the cable. Our agency faxed our office at about 10am and by the end of the day the embassy had the cable and had issued pink. I hope this is what the problem is, as it's so easy to fix! Best wishes, Devora

Thank you all!!
Thank you all so much for the never ending emotional support, great suggestions and just all around love!!
Devora, the embassy did finally email me awhile back to let me know that they needed the cable 37 because my old one expired. I jumped on it right away and supposedly it was received because the embassy told my representatives that they have everything they need. I think that was about 2 or so weeks ago so I would think that I would have gotten pink by now. I also called the embassy and got the recording that basically said that they won't be answering the phone or responding to voicemail messages so my sister accessed my AOL account from her office (at my request) and we wrote an email to the embassy. If they really do have everything like they say then I wonder what the holdup could be. If I don't have a response by Tuesday evening then I'll be contacting my Senator first thing on Wednesday morning. My agency is not getting the information from the facilitator but the agency is actually calling the other people working on my behalf. They are the ones who reported what the embassy said. I just want my little girl home NOW! I'm so very happy for all of you who have been able to pick up your children but it is still so very painful for me to watch so many others going and I'm still waiting. Adoption is supposed to be such a wonderful experience but, in all honesty, this has to have been one of if not the worst experiences of my 44 years on this earth. I promise I'll let you all know when I get some information. Thanks so much for letting me continue to vent. Love you all bunches! Karen |

I'm so sorry. It must be heartbraking to be so close... I hope things get resolved VERRY soon and you bring your baby home. It is amazing how heartless some of these facilitators are.
