Hi...the post about adoption jewelry reminded me of something.... Have you seen the Christopher Radko "Dave Thomas Foundation" Christmas ornaments? They are beautiful. Each year, Radko designs a new ornament for the Dave Thomas Foundation (yes, the founder of Wendy's). He started an foundation to work towards finding homes for orphans. Ten percent of each purchase goes to the foundation. Dave Thomas "devoted untold hours lobbying for adoption benefits at the federal and state level, traveling around the country to address state legislatures and congressional committees. He convinced major businesses to add or improve adoption benefits as part of employee benefit packages, setting an example with his own companies and sponsoring awards to recognize others. He was a major force behind National Adoption Awareness Month, the annual "A Home for the Holidays" television show at Christmas, the Adoption Awareness Stamp issued in 1999 by the U.S. Postal Service, and an annual Adoption Christmas ornament, to name only a few. "

Anyway, take a look at the ornaments. I buy mine each year at Macy's or their website. I give them as gifts to my mom and mother in law, and of course, Santa always leaves one on our Christmas tree too!

I have never been able to find them anywhere but Macy's. We have been buying them since they started, so I think this will be #5 or #6. The ones with little faces are always very diverse. They are not inexpensive, but have are very special to have on our tree.

Anyone know about the Hallmark Adoption Oranment this year? I'm not seeing it in the stores or in their catalog. They had one last year and the year before and I was hoping they would have one this year, too!

This is so cool to hear about these ornaments! Every year, my best girlfriend and I spend an afternoon or evening looking at Radko's and we buy one for each other to open on Christmas. Then we have a great dinner...but that's not the point. Anyway, this will definitely be something that I will search for on our "Radko Day"!
