Unbelievable (but sadly, believable) story about unethical adoption

Have you seen this story? "How Sylvia and Jocelyn Became Amaya Grace Webb" To get to it, go to adoption.com, and look for "Adoption News" on the right side, then scroll down to the story by that name. Here is the direct URL: http://www.pjstar.com/stories/101305...14DO.083.shtml

These folks are adopting a baby girl, only when they show up to see her it's not the baby they started with! and their adoption "professionals" try to cover it up! The one person who tried them had her life threatened. They didn't even know who this "new" baby was.

What a story. How awful that I have no trouble believing it's all true.

Oh jinkies. I remember when all that went down at the embassy, Blanca being banned. She is unbelievable.

Kudos to the Webb family for hanging in there. No telling what would have happened to that sweet little girl if they had chosen to give up.

For those of you familiar with this case, did they locate Sylvia and do you know what happened to her?

Very unhappy with my agency due to lack of communication, long process, contract restrictions, and many other reasons. Ask me if you'd like to avoid them.

I don't know which agency the story is about but wanted to add that Feliciano is a sweetheart and has helped many families. If you are ever in a jam he is one you can go to for advice and guidance.

yes sadly this story is true as I met them while it was all going down and what a happy ending to a very sad story for the webb's. Unfortunately it was not the first i ahve heard and i sadly do not believe it will be the last. They do know what happened to Sylvia or at least they did when i was down in guate hopefully they will post type a heading to the webb's.

Although this story is true, please remember that every story has two (or more) sides; not every perspective is being represented in this article, and that's just sloppy reporting.

I remember hearing bits and pieces of this while they were going through this horrendous process. Kevin, on GuatAdopt, even welcomed them home and hinted at what a really horrific time they had completing the adoption of Amaya.

I can not imagine the emotion they must have felt while going through all of this, but I applaud their efforts in bringing their daughter home and for bringing to light some of the unethical people involved in IA. Adoption (international and domestic) should be about the child(ren), but sadly that is not always the case.

Hopefully, all is going well for the Webb family since returning home!

The scary thing is...these unethical adoptions by "adoption professionals" are not that rare.
