We have been home for 2 months

Hello Everyone,

We have been home for 2 months now and boy does the time go quickly. I am back to work now and Emma is NOT liking daycare at all. She has seperation aneixty big time. I think she is old enough to remember that the last time the person that took care of her walked out the door she never came back. ANY SUGGESTIONS?????????
Emma is 15 months and very much a mommys girl. We tried me staying with her for awhile and then leaving for an hour and then two and so forth. My husband tells me quiting my job is not an option and I did not win the power ball so I we are looking for more suggestions.

My computer died right before we got Emma and we just replaced it so it has been to long since I have been in touch.

Good luck to all of you where ever you are in the process. I promise it will come to an end and it is all worth it.

What about looking for someone who will come to your house to care for Emma. Maybe just staying in her own house would help her feel better. I used to work with two women (when I was single and childless) who used to have older "grandma" type ladies stay at their house with their kids while they worked. It worked out well for them. They had the same "grandma's" for many years until their children no longer needed an adult to care for them.

My only suggestion would be to keep to the same routine with day care. Same person dropping off, same time (drop off and pick up). She'll adjust sooner or later (I'm sure you're thinking sooner would be better). Don't prolong your time in her day care room when leaving. Giver her a hug and kiss and tell her you will be back (after nap, or after pm snack or whatever time it is you pick her up). Hang in there. Welcome home.
