Hey all! I hope everyone is doing well !!

I recieved my packet finally last Thursday. By Saturday my 5 hours worth of paperwork was filled out and in the mail!! So now my social worker will be contacting me later this week to set up the update visit for our homestudy.

How is everyone else doing?? anything new??

Congratulations on getting all your paperwork done for you updated homestudy. Every step is one closer to having your baby home.

We finally received our homestudy in the mail on Friday, and I will be mailing out my dossier to be certifed and authenticated tomorrow!!!

I thought our homestudy was sent to USCIS last week, but our agency had to send it to the state first for approval, and they should be getting it back tomorrow or Wednesday, then its off to USCIS. So I will just be waiting for my 171-H and a referral.

Well I am glad you got all your paperwork done. I hope your homestudy gets done soon.

We sent our documents to the agency, and they received them Friday. They will review them and then we hope to have our referral soon. We are waiting for the I171H to come. We are going to be getting a little brother for our daughter. I am so glad we have all these people also with us in the process. It is great to have others to talk with. Good luck to all.

I'm just starting out... did my homestudy workshop meeting saturday... and the sw just called and had to change our first meeting... so i'll have to take a day off and actually moved it up to wed. from friday.....


i'm trying to get all the paperwork together for that but neither have been that helpful... i'm trying to figuire out if the same the reference letters are the same for the hs and the dossier....the medical form, etc....

it's a bit overwhelming sometimes doing it by yourself, but so is parenting so i guess it's good practice.....

i hope things move along quickly for all of us

LisaDR- With my agency, you need different refference letters, but can be the same people. They said we CAN use the same police report though...

I'm also in the process. Just waiting for police clearance to be sent with H.S. Then I can be waiting for 1171H. I just love the waiting game. ; ) I'm just so excited to get the referral.

Hi everyone.

I am in the beginning of the process with our second adoption. Was going to do the hs in Nov. but decided to see if she can come on the 31st of Oct. How do I add lines to my signature page. It says no more room or something to that effect.

Hi all - Not much to report here. I am waiting for the sw to call to schedule an appointment for our homestudy update - hopefully she will call this week. We have fingerprint appointments in 3 weeks for local police and child abuse clearance checks - I'm hoping to move those up and get those and our INS fingerprints done the same day...

We just signed with a new agency and hope to have their dossier requirements this week - so I can begin that p/w.

We should post this thread each Monday so we can all check in with each other I'm so glad there are so many of us at the same stage, I felt so alone starting our first adoption...

Working on completing the needed docs for our updated homestudy. Doctor's appointments scheduled and reference letters being written. I600A was sent in.

We are STILL trying to finish the homestudy. Something seems to always get in the way. Some of our references never mailed in the references to the Social Worker so I have to track those down or get new people to do references. Last week were were supposed to gather the final papers and do our final interview. We had a fun adventure with the flu instead.
Next week we are moving and should be long done with the homestudy. At this rate we might as well pay the higher fee for the I-600a and do a new homevisit instead of an update later.
I am working on the dossier as I can but with the move and the homestudy I figure I'll finish it while we wait for approval after turning in our I-600a. We may do that the week we move.
We did get our passports several weeks early without expediteing! I am so excited to have them.
Fun and crazy! I can't wait to get the newest video update of our little girl. I want her home!

Hi! It sounds like alot of us are at the same point! Congratulations on all the movement! We picked up our home study update on Friday and it goes in the mail to USCIS tomorrow. I went to send it today and forgot it was Columbus day! lol! Anyway, dossier is gathered except for the financial statement from our accountant since we are self employed and we are to pick that up by the end of the week. So I guess all we are really waiting for now is the fingerprint appointment from USCIS and the 171h. We believe that the 171h will be in by the middle of November if not sooner. We are about a month behind where we thought we would be because we ran into so many delays (a whole months worth) with our home study update. But, it looks like we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and hope to have our referral mid November! I can't wait! Baby Tucker, we are so ready to meet you!

Hi All,
It sounds like everyone's moving right along. That's great.

We sent our I600A in a week ago and were very surprised to find a letter in the mail from them so soon. Our fingerprinting appt. is Oct. 25th. The letter states it will take 10 weeks to process after the prints are taken for our 1171H. I though it would be longer. We got the rest of our dossier papers done, police letters and financial form. I'm sending everything to our agency tomorrow for their review then off to the sec. of state.
