Wonderful Surprise
Hi all --
I logged on this evening and got a great surprise! My son's foster Mom sent me an e-mail!! I'd sent her e-mails when I returned from Guatemala this past week, and included a link to photos from the trip (I plan to post photos when I get out of PGN or something more final). Anyway, I wasn't sure if she'd gotten the e-mail and we have a bit of a language barrier so I wasn't sure that she understood my pitiful Spanish. But, she must have, because she sent me a lovely e-mail (best as I can make out). I'm just so happy for the contact. It makes my heart so full and makes me feel as if I have just a little bit of contact with my boy.

Anne,
I bet that was a great surprise. I can see how it makes you feel a little closer. We sent a care package and it had an outfit in it that I was hoping very much would be on our daughter in our next set of pics. It's so silly but it would have been wonderful to see her in the outfit me and my husband languished over picking out. lol Something so little can mean so much. Maybe the next pics. So, I can totally see how emailing with the Foster Mom would be extremely special. I hope you remain in contact, might give you some sighs of relief in this patience trying journey.  Jenny

How cool to get and send email to your son's FM! It makes it seem like Guatemala is right next door, not so far away. And it sounds like you have a GREAT foster mom. And I'm sure your contact with her can only have a positive effect on her care for your son. Best wishes to you!

It is really neat. Of course, the language barrier is a bit tough. Turns out, somehow, the foster Mom thought that I'd named my son, "Angel Gabriel," when actually I've named him "Gabriel David." How she got "Angel" out of that is beyond me. My spoken Spanish must be truly awful!!!
In any event, thanks to the translation help of MildredJohn, I think I've straightened out the name thing!
