Once the paperwork is submitted, I think authorization is granted right away. It is after the DNA test results are submitted, that the waiting begins for pre-approval.
Anyone please chime in if I'm wrong? Coleen

DNA Testing
I just asked this question to other agency members the other day. I've have authorization for a couple of weeks and was curious about turnaround.
Obviously, this can vary drastically, dependent upon a number of things. One good point is that some attorneys may wait to schedule the test for the same day the birthmother has her FC interview. This especially makes sense if they do not live in GC and have difficult schedules or in arranging transport. I didn't think of this, but makes me feel a bit less paranoid about why it isn't getting done right away (as we know, our minds play tricks). Good luck to you and hope you get your results soon!! DNA Authorization
Sorry...didn't quite answer your question.
I think we got notice of authorization about the same time our POA arrived to our Attorney in GC. |

Denise,
I don't know the answer to your question, but I'm so happy that you got some news today. I'm praying that everything goes smoothly with the DNA process.

Our attorney got the DNA authorization immediately and we were told that it was pretty much the norm...

Hey Denise,
We were told the SAME thing on Wed. so I am sure that you are going to be getting your call, on Monday, if you haven't already for payment. Finally OUR guy made into Embassy with our paperwork! Whoo hoo!! Gosh.. can our adoption cases be any closer in progress? Mmmm referrals a day apart, DNA a day apart.. Perhaps visit same time? Pick up same time???
