I remember getting photos and video of my boys and they looked miserable. It made me do nothing that day at work except search for flight prices to Guatemala. I know how hard it is. I'm so sorry.

On the other hand...there looks to be only one tear, and it looks as if she has just been distracted from her moment of unhappiness. She could be looking up to see which wonderful person is trying to help put a smile back on her beautiful face. If you can look at it that way, you can be so thankful she is alert and able to be soothed and interested in life around her. Is that a possibile scenario that might turn up the corner of her sad mama's heart with a bit of hope? She's really ok, even though I know how badly you want her here. She surely is healthy, from the looks of those cheeks and sparkly eyes. And someone has taken the time to give her a sweet hairdo! I think she looks like she is being loved very much. One day those who have been loving her there will be missing her for the sweet baby she is. Does it help to think about what a special little girl she is to cause so many to love her? Your child is bringing joy to others for now, but they only get to enjoy her for a relatively short time, compared to you loving her for the rest of your lives. You are one very blessed family. I know she will bring such joy into all of your lives. Our three from Guatemala have added to their older siblings lives in ways immeasurable...not to mention my husband and mine.

Every picture we got (and there were not too many) from our agency our daughter was crying..it broke my heart. Hang in there..she will be home soon.
