Back from Guatemala with my children
I have been so busy, I went to Guatemala on Sunday July 9th arriving in Guatemala on the 10th of July. On Tuesday I saw my two children for the first time. On Wednesday I went to the embassy for the interview, it was a breeze. On Thursday I picked up the visas and on Friday I left with my two children. I would attach photos however I do not know how to do so.
For all those waiting, I just want to let you know the process was soo simple once the pinks slip is issued. The only recent change is that visas are no longer issued on the same date as your interview, however, they are issued the following day. I was told to come back to the embassy at 3:30pm. There are two pick up tiems 7:30am and 3:30 pm. I took advantage of the later appointment time and picked up both visas. The Marriott was GREAT, I had a bi-level suite which allowed alot of room for the children to play as well as room for the adults. The food at the hotel is great especially their buffetts. I highly recommed the Marriott. Furthermore, I ran into a few folks from this forum. There were plenty of adoptive families there. I log in again in a few days to see how everyone is doing.
