I-600a question
I have a quick and probably silly question. Question #13 asks If you plan on traveling to pick up your child.
What if we're not sure? Is it ok to mark "no" and then we can change our mind later? We live across the country from our whole extended family so we're not sure we could get someone to stay with our other 4 children, not sure if we want to travel with the 4 kids (5 coming home!). Also, are simple photocopies of your birth and marriage certificates ok? Thanks! |

I know the answer to the second half of your question - just plain photocopies were OK with our INS office.
Sorry I don't know about the other question - I'm sure there are people here who weren't sure when they filled it out. Hopefully someone will know.

I just got off the phone with the USCIS asking the same question. We are mailing ours today. My husband does not fly, but I'm hoping that once we start getting pictures of our baby, he may change his mind and want to go. I was told to go ahead and mark "no" and if he changes his mind, that it OK. He can still go. The question is meant for readoption purposes in your state. In our state (WV), we have to readopt anyway, whether we both travel or neither of us travel. Hope I could help.
Also, page 2 number 16 - I have previously been told to put Guatemala City, Guatemala. The USCIS person I talked to today said I should put the location of where I am filing which is Pittsburgh, PA. I do not think this is correct. Do you have any idea on that one?
