Guatemala here we come!
Am I the only one who has been very nervous about my visit trip? We leave Sunday morning at 6 am to meet our princess Emma. We packed tonight and I am hoping that I have remebered everything we need to take. I can't believe we got it all in 2 suitcases plus one small pull behind carry on. I am taking so many outfits for Emma, that I am going to have to have a baby fashion show. There is at least 3 outfits a day for her. Our luggage should be lighter coming home as we are leaving most of the stuff with Emma's foster mom. At least there will be room for things we buy in Antiqua.
For those of you traveling for pick up...looking forward to meeting up with you and celebrating. Will post when we return.

Have a wonderful visit trip! I just got back from mine and it's stressful getting ready to travel to a foreign country, meeting your child for the first time, etc. I didn't really relax until 24 hours after I arrived. Being a first time mom, I was pretty nervous about doing everything right and getting over the fear of dropping her on her head! But then I gained my confidence and that bonding/attachment thing really kicked in. It was great. Since I've gotten home, I've been sleeping so much better, too. I guess knowing that this is real and it's actually going to happen has given me more peace of mind.
Enjoy that baby fashion show!

Oh goodness yes, I'm all sorts of nervous about the pickup trip. DH and I have traveled internationally, so that's not really a problem, but I must have packed and repacked the baby's things a dozen times. I hope I don't drop our baby on his head, too!
![]() I'm also phobic about flying, which adds an additional stress, but our GP prescribed some xanax for me so my head won't explode en route. We're leaving monday morning...maybe we'll see you there! ![]() pam |

Hello,
My son has the same birthday as your Emma!!! We visited over fourth of July and it was wonderful. We were a nervous wreck, but it was so much easier arriving and getting to the hotel than we thought. We stayed at the Westin. The only suggestion I have that I haven't seen before is if you have sensitive skin you may want to bring a towel, blanket, and toilet paper that are unscented. Everything was sprayed down with a floral scent and was a little problematic for me (especially the TP). You will have such a great time. If two of you are going I suggest each of you taking an hour one day and get out of the hotel with some other visiting families. Even if it is just to McDonalds!!! Have a fun trip. If you stay at the Westin you can rent a cell phone to call back to the states from the business center. Enjoy that baby.

I know you'll do great--our visit trip was wonderful. If (by some chance but not likely) you forgot something, you will be able to buy it there. and you will get to make priceless memories. I treasure the videos and photos from our visit trip.

Have a great time and be sure to take a lot of pictures. Don't worry if you can not keep to the FM's schedule. We just did what worked and had a great time without the stress of worrying. Make sure that you leave enough kisses to last until you see her again!
