For those who have gone before us.....Did you have to supply the 3 years tax forms, Affidavit of Support if both adoptive parents visited prior to the adoption being final? I'm taking them with me just in case, but...
On the I-600 form, does it matter which name goes first, miine or my husbands. I don't think it does, but thought someone may know. As we both work, it would be moot point, wouldn't? What all did you have to show at the airport in GC when you left with the baby? Just the passport, or what? Thanks for the info.

You have visited before or not? We had both visited and did not have to do the Affadavit of Support or show the tax forms..we brought them anyways though. I don't think name order would matter on the I-600 but its been awhile since I have seen the form..If you haven't visited you will need all of those forms..I thought all we showed at the airport was the packet (unopened) for BCIS to get in your port of entry to the US and her passport..maybe someone who recently came home could let you know better! Have a fun trip...

Thanks, yes...we both have visited. I was just trying to find out what may be changing. I am also, like you, going to take everything with me just in case, plus some extra blank I600 forms, just in case I filled them out incorrectly.
I didn't know if we had to show any of the adoption paperwork when we went thru the airport in GC. Maybe just her GC passport?

I am so excited for you that you are finally out. We are using the same agency. I am Fatima's mom. Let me know what all you have to go through as hopefully I will not be too far behind you. We are at day number 15 in PGN so we are hoping to be out by then end of July. Does Melanie have a GC BC? Fatima doesn't so I don't know how long it will take for us to get her's once we are out. I am hoping to travel by August.

Check out the US Embassy in Guatemala website under Immigrant Visas. It has alot of info although I believe that the fee is now $380 not $335 (I was just there the end of March). Also check out Guatadopt.com for travel tips and a link to the Embassy in GC.
