Has anyone been in Family Court 3? That unfortunately is where we are. We've received embassy pre-approval but we've been in Family Court since mid-May. According to our agency, the sw cancelled the interview w/the birth mother and rescheduled it for next week. I pray the interview gets done then, and she immediately writes the report. According to our agency, this court is very biased. Has anyone had experiences w/this court or the social workers in it?

I'm pretty sure that's the court we were in with our first adoption. We were in for a month with no interview scheduled so our lawyer pulled us and resubmitted us. Then the interview took place a week later. Sorry to hear this.

I had the same issue with the Family Court (not sure of #). I had pre-approval, DNA and everything else but the social worker took over 3 WEEKS to make her appt. with my lawyer. My agency told me this was unusual in their experience as usually these appts. happen within 2-5 days after the FC proceedings. My agency calls this lady the "stinky social worker". Needless to say, my submission to the PGN happened much later than anticipated - but my lawyer did turn my case in to the PGN the day after sign off from the social worker.

So sorry to hear this ~ I have asked a few times if our Family Court interview has been done and if we have exited, but I was told this is not normally an update we will receive.....now you really have me curious. We will be waiting at least 30 days on our Pre-Approval, but it would be nice to be updated on Family Court status!

During our first adoption (2 years ago), we were in FC # 3... after 12 weeks of no action, our attorney pulled us out and had us submitted to a different FC... in that court we were out in 2 weeks.

I am so sorry you were given FC # 3. Please urge your agency to have your attorney pull you out of that court!

We currently have pre-approval but are not being submitted to PGN without our social workers final report. The social worker last meet with the birthmom begining of June. We are still waiting. Sorry that you have to go though this. I feel your pain.

Yes, we were in FC #3 in 2003 but our attorney removed us and requested a different FC because they have a reputation of being slow.

I can't believe you all know what family court you are in! I asked my agency the other day if we would find out when we were out of FC and in PGN and she looked at me like I had 3 heads! THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY I WOULD EVER BE TOLD THAT INFORMATION!!!!!! After looking at other timelines, it looks like we may have been in FC for a while now. I found out DNA was done 5/23. I would think we would be out of FC by now.
UGH!!!
This adoption process is driving me crazy!!!!!!!

You might very well be in the infamous Family Court 3.

It's funny but all along I've been praying for our PGN reviewer -that that person's heart and attitude would be supportive of adoption, etc. Now, I've started praying for our FC social worker!
