OT- any volunteer parents out there?

I just was wondering if anyone else is a "volunteer" helper for any of your childs activities?
Let's share our favorites....
My DH and I are baseball coaches. We started in Tball and this year was our last year of PeeWee, next year on to Little League!
I also am a cub scout leader. My son will be a Webelo I this coming year.
I think my favorite is Cub Scouting!!! Whats yours????

Wait until you have 2!! ;)

I'm the treasurer for my oldest son's (DS#1) Cub Scout Pack (he's also in Webelos) and I teach Sunday School, and my DH coaches my younger son's (DS#2) soccer team and helps to run basketball camps for special needs kids at our church.

I also serve as "room mother" for DS#1, which means I organize all the holiday parties. Starting next year I'll be adding Kindergarten parties to my repertoire (again) when DS#2 starts school.

DS#1 plays both football and soccer as well, DS#2 wants to start tae kwon do and swimming--so we'll never be home at night again!

This will be our first child, but my husband has been active with children's teams for years. He has coached 7-8yo baseball for a couple of years and helps coach a local middle school basketball team. He's a sports fanatic and people are always asking him to coach or help their kids, and he always says yes. He'll be a great daddy!

Well, this week, I'm heading the snack team for Vacation Bible School at our church which means we're in charge of the light supper for the kids (our church does VBS at night). I'm already worn out, and it's only Tuesday!

At my sons' school, I've been an assistant room mother and last year, helped w/reading in the preschool class. This year, I will probably be a room mother for my older son, since he's been asking me to do it for several years. I've put it off b/c of adoption stuff, but since he'll be in 4th grade, it's time I did it.

My husband is a select soccer coach for my daughter's team. He coached my older son's soccer team for 8 years...even did both teams at one time....now it is Natalie's turn. He will go in and help with the kid's classroom and is great with the kids.

I used to be the registrar, select coordinator and age group coordinator for the soccer club, but scaled back when we decided to adopt.

I've been team Mom, room Mom, art docent(volunteer art teacher), 2nd vp of the PTA (fundraiser), Bookfair chairperson, school parties...you name it. It is a great way to be with your kids and all their friends. They all know me and love to wave to me when they see me. I'm kinda the "cool" Mom! Love it!!!

Do it while you can now that my oldest 2 are in Middle School they'd rather you not show up at school....cool mom or not.

This will be my first baby, but I have been the coach of an all-star cheerleading program for 4 years. Right now, I coach three teams, but plan to scale back once the baby is here. I also help out with the Children's Ministry at my church.

It is wonderful to have children and be able to be active in whatever they are doing. I am running the VBS program at our church and I teach the cradle roll class (ages 0-3) at my church as well.

I love helping out and can never say no.

I was assistant soccer coach for my son's team for 1 1/2 years. Now I have been the head coach for a year.

I help out with local 4-H clubs

I also was an advisor to a Sorority, but had to cut back. I miss that a lot. The young women were wonderful to work with.

My husband and son are in Native American Sons and Daughters it is a father child program that branched off from Indian Guides and Princesses. They do tons of activities together and really create a geat bonding experience for Father's and there children. Anyway my husband is going to be a "Chief" this year. He has also been the head of serveral outings.

My husband goes to high schools and teaches about how to get a job. He has a couple kids a year shadow him at work.

My Husband also plans to coach Cory's baseball team next year.
