My husband and I are just starting the adoption process for Guatemala and are planning to engage an agency to help us with the adoption after we are "paper ready" (completed homestudy, dossier, etc.). We know this is an atypical approach, but it has been suggested to us by two other couples who have gone through the process recently.

So, we are trying to get a recommendation for someone we can use to complete the home study in Houston, preferably someone with experience with Guatemalan adoptions. Also, I would love to talk to someone who lives in Houston or in Texas, who's recently gone through the adoption process. The other couples we know are in different states, so talking to someone more local would really help so that we can ask about any Texas-specific requirements.
