We did this. We adopted two infants. They were actually 6 months apart in age. They came home at the same time at 3 1/2 and 9 1/2 mths. For us it worked out wonderfully. It is a lot of work(especially the first few months) but lots of fun too. We had lots of family to help out as we also had 3 older kids and extended family close by. They are now 5 and 4 1/2. We also adopted another son last year who is 5 1/2.

Waiting for twins can sometimes mean a very long wait for a referral...but many families who know they are going to adopt two children decide to do it at one time by adopting two unrelated infants. There are a few financial advantages...but mainly for many people they just want to go through the process one time and get it over with
![]() I can't personally tell you what it is like...except that I would imagine it would be very much like having twins. Lots of work but also lots of fun!!

It's a lot of work! We adopted two at once -- unrelated (home at 17 months and 6 months)...not quite like twins, but both ages have their pros and cons!
We didn't have a lot of family to help...but do have an 11-yo bio dd who is a gem when it comes to helping out. We mostly did it so that we only had to go through the very stressful adoption process once (and we had a really good timeline!)...we did get to pick up together, which was both good and bad, as well. Good luck with your decision!
