extended dna testing

Labcorp has had our sample since the 14th
The lady told me to call back today and she should be able to give me some sort of an answer
Called today she says it looks like we are in extended testing
Does anyone know what this is
She talked like it really wasn't nothing to it
That they didn't get a 99% maybe and had to do further testing?
The lady at Labcorp state they do 8 test on the DNA they rec
I thought they just did plain ole DNA
If this is true do you know what they test for
Or do they have a bad sample
Any input would be appreciated
Cindy

It's actually fairly common to have to have additional testing. If the initial test does not come back with enough of a positive result they do expanded testing. It's really not anything to worry about...it simply means that your child and her birthmother have a common form of DNA markers and further testing is necessary to get the 99% certaintly that the Embassy wants.
