Hi, I was wondering how much cash people brought on pick up. I know you need 380 for US Embassy and 90 for Security tax but how much extra did you bring for food and miscellaneous and tips. Can you buy the babies ticket with a Mastercard? I hate to walk around with to much cash on hand. Do you know if you run out of money do they have ATM machines down there? Thanks Mindy

We are not yet to the pick up trip phase. I did notice on our visit trip that most places did take Visa. I was told ahead of time that MasterCard was not taken at some places where Visa was. Just something to think about.

You don't need cash at the Embassy - they take credit cards. All of the major hotels do also. There are ATM's available.

And if you feel the need, you could always take AmEx Travelers Checks.

I took cash for the embassy. I know everyone says they take credit cards, but my attorney was old school and say the embassy is never consistent and we wouldn't want to get down there and the credit card machine or something be down. So we took crisp twenties because they don't like old bills eithere. Then I took about $500 in cash to have on had. Within the hotel like phone calls, internet service, restaurant and mcuh more we just put on our tab and paid by credit care when we left. We used our cash when we went to the market for the day, or wanted a soda from the gift shop, bought baby stuff at their local market or while waiting in the hotel. We had plenty of money left. I think it's just what you feel comfortable with.

We stayed at the Radisson and they had a cash machine right outside the front door! I am not sure about the other hotels, but you definitely can get cash down there.
