Question continental, lap tix?

Has anyone flown continental for the pick up trip and bought their lap tickets for Baby just before leaving Guatemala? Our travel agency doesn't seem to think they can book in advance . . . they said I just get it at the airport when we leave . . . ??

Marriott has a Continental desk, right? Can I book the lap ticket there, the day before departure, and perhaps check in?

Any ideas? I want to avoid standing in line at the airport with Baby if I can help it.

Twice now we have bought lap tickets at the Continental counter in Guatemala when we checked in to fly home with our baby. It was no problem!!

lap ticket

i justed made arrangement for my pick up trip and i have a confirmed lap ticket for the baby on the way back but i did not have to pay for it yet, it is on continental airlines. i guess i pay at the airport or the airline desk at the marriot before departure.

I've done it both ways.

On my first pick up trip I paid for the lap ticket when I checked in for departure at the airport.

On my second pick up trip I paid for the lap ticket when I made all the travel arrangements with the travel agency. If you do it this way, you MUST know how the baby's name appears on his/her passport.

No problems either way.

Have a great pick up trip !

I bought my ticket at the counter in the airport. No problem!! The woman at the counter even saw that we had a baby and moved out seats up to the front of the plane on her own. She also left a empty seat between my sister and I. It was great to have the space and be able to exit quicker to get to the INS. I think we were second called for the interview.

We flew continental and stayed at the Marriott. After we picked up our daughters visa we went to the office there at the Marriott and they booked the lap ticket for us.

Yes we got our lap ticket at the Continental desk at the Marriot. It was easy to do - they just had to see her passport and Visa packet.
