I am wondering (way ahead) in our ref pictures our baby is nursing a Gerber bottle
I plan on using my Playtex bottles but not the amber color nipples I have looked at the silicone nipples Do you think I will have a difficult time switching over I guess I need to purchase some Gerbers just in case I probably just answered my own question We haven't had DNA test done yet and I am letting my mind get away with me Thanks Cindy

we were able to send the playtex bottles and liners down when Chloe was about 6 weeks old with our agency when they went for a visit.
Got an email last week saying our foster mother was starting to run low on liners if we could send more. You might want to check on that.

I was going to switch when I got home also. Kenna had a mourning time/ bonding time when she got home and the bottle change was pushed aside. When I went to get more bottles I just bought the Gerber. She is doing fine on them and it was one less adjustment for her. Something you might want to consider.

Depending on the age of your baby switching bottles may be very difficult. Many babies are on the old fashioned gerber bottles in Guatemala. Our daughter came home and wouldn't take anything else. I agree with the poster above we just let her stay on the gerber bottles there wasn't anything wrong with them and it was one less thing for her to have to adjust to. If you have the opportunity to visit or send packages you could send bottles down there still isn't any guarantee that they will be used but this would be one way to get your baby on the type of bottle you prefer.

We visited our son at 2 mos. and took plain old Evenflo bottles (because I saw a pic of him drinking one), but he didn't like the silicone nipples at all. We had to keep resterilizing the rubber nipple over and over. Towards the end of the trip we tried him with the silicone nipple with the highest flow (I think it is supposed to be for 12 mos. old and he liked it a little better) - that is the other thing - he was using a nipple with an enlarged hole and the smaller ones would make him mad because he couldn't get his formula fast enough. So, just for your own sanity, if you know he is on Gerber, I would take a few rapid flow Gerber nipples and then whatever else you want to try to switch or leave.

When I visited, I took Gerber bottles. The one he was using was a different brand (didn't have a name) and the nipple was silicone and a bit bigger than the one on the Gerber. For most of my visit, I used mine and he didn't mind at all. One day, I did use the one FM gave me and he seem to not like that big nipple! I left one of mine with her and told her that he seemed to prefer it. Have no idea if she is using it or not.
