We are going on the 7th week of waiting for our 2nd baby girl referral (from the attorney who gave us our first referral). What are your thoughts? Is this a long amount of time to wait? We are first on his list.

If it is taking this long to get a referral is this a sign the rest of the process is going to drag?

Surely not. I suspect that girls are jsut hard to come by right now!

i was wondering as you havent posted for a while.

i would think the referral wait is not an indicator of the process though. but i dont really know.

what does your agency say?
im sure they are anxious for you to have a referral.
do they feel this is a long time?
it seems like it to me. but then, i found the wait between loosing dairin, and getting TR2's referral pretty rough.
actually, that was one of the roughest waits for me.

I used an agency that uses your same attorney and I haven't seen any girl referrals in a while. Maybe there's a lull in girl referrals right now?

When we lost our 2nd referral (not with the same attorney) we waited at least 3 weeks for a boy referral.

Sorry to hear you are still waiting. I guess the wait is longer when you have to wait for one particular attorney to have a girl referral. I don't think the length of time you wait for a referral has any bearing on your process once you accept a referral.

Yes it does seem like along time to wait and I would think you would be first in line. I would ask my agency how long it has been since they had a baby girl referral and why the long wait time.
I am anxious for you to get your referral.

I'm sorry that you are still waiting. But whoever said it takes longer when you are waiting for a girl referral from a single attorney was absolutely correct. Our agency works with just a single attorney so our wait for a girl referral was long. But then there were lots of girls relinquished at about the same time.

For us, referral wait time was definitely not an indication of the effeciency of the rest of the process. Our daughter's adoption once we were finally matched with her took 4 months.

You will hear good news soon, especially if you are at the top of the waiting list.

HI jennifer- I am waiting for your post too! Let's see- it took us over 2 months to get a new baby girl referral- and we ended up going with a different attorney. But that being said- 7 weeks is a long time! Keep plaguing them.
