Visit before DNA??

I am asking this question for a friend. They got a referral and are now waiting for DNA. Would you advise that they wait until after the confirmation of that to go and visit? The adoption agency has suggested that but they are anxious to see her. Thanks so much

my agency says no, basically because the bmom goes to take a picture with the child and she may change her mind at this point, although not likely, and there is always the possibility that the dna is not a match

I posted this very same question not too long ago. You have to do what is right for you. I am traveling to see my son May5-9 without DNA! I know there is the slight chance something could happen but, it is very slight. It seems to be very rare for there to be a problem with the DNA, especially if the baby is older. I say GO! But, others would say don't I think it is probably a person choice. My head said stay and wait, but my heart said go.....that darn heart!!

We don't have DNA yet and we are going the end of this month. I'm hoping we will have it by then, but if not we're still going. I want to see him while he is still young and I wanted to use frequent flyer miles for my tickets, so didn't want to wait until the last minute to make my reservations.

Many agencies will not allow visting prior to DNA matching. As said above they must do what is right for them it wasn't an option for us and the lady I worked with at "The Agency" said "it is very rare until it happens to you". That made a lot of sense to me when we were discussing the possiblity of losing a referral. It is very uncommon but it does happen and that is why many agencies will not allow travel to visit baby prior to DNA matching.
