alabama sec of state & passport question
Can those of you from Alabama tell me how long it takes for the Sec of State to Certify/Seal the dossier documents. I am debating on driving it to Montgomery or sending it UPS/FEDEX. If they will take care of it while I am there than I will drive it. But on the other hand I don't won't those precious documents to sit on somebody's desk forever if I send them by UPS/FEDEX. Any Suggestions?
My second question is dumb, but I know I can get an answer here. My dh and I recieved our passports sometime back but we haven't signed them. My dh says he heard that you sign the way you normally do regardless of what's on the passport, but that doesn't make sense to me. I assume we are supposed to sign First Middle Last name like it is printed on the passport. Also, we need copies of our passports for our dossier, but I'm not sure if they should be color or black/white copies. I remember reading somewhere that color copies are illegal but Guatemala likes to have color copies...did I read this or dream this??? THANK YOU! Brina ![]()

I can't help you regarding the Alabama SOS turnaround. But if you go to Kinko's, they have a self serve color copy machine and that is what I did. Good luck and I hope your husband's prints are processed soon!! Also, we signed our passports exactly as they were on the passport.

The SOS told me..........
that if we took the time to drive them down they would definitely do it while we were there and they did! We did have to do a couple of additional documents later that I mailed down and they got them done and out the same day, so I got them back quickly. Either way, Alabama does a good job on this part.....
