Why can't I give rep points?

I am trying to give reputation points and am unable. What am I doing wrong?

I don't know -- Are you seeing the message about spreading the love around before you rep so and so again? You have to rep 15 people before you can re-rep someone. Is that the problem?

Strange. I've gotten rep from you, so I know you used to be able to give it...did you recently get a popup blocker that might be interfering?

I click on the little scale icon, and nothing happens. When I my pop up blocker is on, I hear a sound and I'm supposed to push control when I click on it. That usually works. Now, I click on it and have no sound and nothing happens.

I click on the warning icon next to it to see if I can report bad posts, and that screen changes.

I don't know!!! Any help out there???

Well, try clicking on it while holding control and see if that works.

Ok...well...could you try, just for a sec, to turn your pop-up blocker off and see if it works?

I've checked your settings and there is nothing on this side that is preventing you from repping.

so I finally got curious and tried it... but it seemed to work fine for me, so I guess it is not an "across the boards" problem.

Well, it's definitely a problem with my home computer because I can give rep points from another computer. I'll see if I can figure it out.

Just wanted to say that I am having the same problem as trice. I have used this feature before and as far as I know haven't changed any features on my computer, so I have no clue what it could be. If anyone figures this out, please let me know.

Patty and Trice,

Have either of you updated your PC's using Window's Update in the recent past?

Is it possible that you've installed Microsofts recent "Service Pack" that included a pop-up blocker and more firewall protection?

This pop-up blocker won't allow any pop-up windows, even when holding down the CTRL button...If either of you thinks this could be a problem, let me know and I'll post some steps on how to allow the rep box with the MS P-U Blocker.

I had this same problem when the forum was upgraded. After many weeks I figured out that I had to turn off my pop up blocker AND ad blocker. Until I did that I could not see pictures either.

I figured it out. We have Norton Utilities, and dh ran an upgrade a couple of days ago, and apparently it was part of the upgrade. Once I turned off the pop up ad thing, it worked.

If there is a way to do that without turning off the pop up blocker, that would be great if you could post those instructions.

I bet my problem is the same as Trice's because I have Norton security as well. I'll go try to figure it out----I'm not much of a computer guru!
