Wink Waiting 4 our Identical Twins

I am really new and I don't know what I am doing with these complicated boards -- could use any tips (I was a pro at the infertility boards - these just seem so confusing to me right now!).

First of all, I am an adoptee myself. I feel that I was made to adopt since I know so much about it.

My husband and I started our paperwork in September. Found out about the babies 12 hours after they were born (they were born on Feb. 3, 2005). We were told to name the babies since their birthmother didn't want to give them any names -- didn't want to become attached.

We flew down to Guat to sign the POA when the babies were 2 weeks old. The babies stayed with us in the hotel, and it was quite an adventure!

The babies had their DNA test on March 18 - match came the next week.

We are now waiting for the preapproval.

Just wondering who else is at the same stage...

Wow, twins! My little guy has twin cousins (girls - born 1/1/05) waiting for him to come home. Looks like I'm two weeks behind you. You are flying! I hope that your process is quick and smooth.

Wink Yikes

I must need some sleep, cuz when I first glanced at the title of your message, I thought it said "Waiting for 4 Identical Twins". Can you imagine?

Congratulations on the twins and welcome to the forum. My husband has twin sisters and we would love to be able to accept twins, but for now, we are hoping for a boy...twins would be a great surprise. Good Luck on the rest of your journey!

From One Guatemalan Twin Parent to another

Congratulations!!!! Twins are a wonderful adventure. Our twin sons have been home seven months and they are just the greatest joy. Their different personalities are really starting to emerge. One is very quite while the other is a wild child. But I wouldn't trade either for anything. But it is so interesting how they work together as a team. They were born in January of 2003.

Here's to good luck on your life's adventure with your twins. I'm glad your process seems to be moving so swiftly.

Welcome to the board!

Smile a little further along

I am also in the process of adopting twins, but I am a little ahead of you in the process. My boys were born on 7/25/04, and I am waiting in PGN. I hope to get a call ANY DAY NOW!!! I am sooooo excited to go, and I am contemplating traveling soon if I don't get out.

Congratulations! We, too, are adopting twin boys. They were born August 31. We had a great visit in mid February, and can't wait to get out of PGN, and the GC BC.

This is so nerve racking!

Good luck!

Congrats on your twins-- it's an adventure!! We brought home our identical twin boys on Jan. 29th. They were born on April 27th (whew their first b-day is ocming up). They are super mellow and love playing with each other. They also love their 3 & 4 year old sisters. My 4 yr old is from Guat and her sister is a bio surprise blessing that arrived in this world 7 months later. I guess God likes our family to grow by twos. I hope that everyone's twins come home soon. Just an FYI expect LOTS if attention in Guat with them -- its a cultural thing to want to touch and bless twins (so I've been told by Latin friends). It was exausting to always be stopped and asked about the boys. On the day we returned home I think we talked to 100 people that day about the boys. Just wanted to prepare you for the onslaught, joyous as it is.

Blessings--mn mom 2 Isabela, Piper, AJ & TJ

Wink Thanks - can't believe all of the twins!

Wow! I can't believe all of the twins! I love the pictures and would like to post mine, but I don't have a clue as to how to do it!

I just got more pictures of the twins today! They have really changed -- they are getting chubby! Yay! They are now 9 lbs each. They are officially two months old.

We are waiting for the Preapproval and then we will move on to SCARY PGN...

Thanks to everyone who posted to my thread! I appreciate it!
