Adoption Supervisors Response to GC Birth Certificate Issues

Below is the email a member received from Adoption Supervisors regarding her inquiry into the issuance of the birth certificate from the Civil Registry in Guatemala City.

I am reposting this message at the request of the member in order to protect their anonymity.

Hello,

Well ... quite frankly you are stuck as everybody else here with the civil registration office. No, there is no way you could get the new birth cert. in one day yourself, those are procedures to follow, it usually does take around 3 weeks and nobody, but nobody could do anything about it. It's a combination of those fired 20 + employees back then, together with the substitution of the civil registrar and her validation, as well as the tremendous local requests this time of the year. Sorry, you'll have to wait it out.

We hope this helps.
