Alyssa is 3 and has been "potty training" for about three weeks now. Everything is going great and she even stays dry through the night (which is a bonus that I wasn't expecting).
Now my question........... When we go away, she will not use the potty in public places. She doesn't have a potty chair at home, she uses the regualr potty with a special seat. How do you make a toddler comfortable to use the potty away from home? She is in regular underwear at home, but I use disposables when we go out because she'll just go in her pants. Any tips or ideas will be appreciated! Thanks, Lori

We actually brought the potty seat with us. I kept it in my car and carried it in a plastic grocery bag wherever we went, church, grocery store, etc. It was much cleaner than using the public toilet and after each use (probably about twice a week - we don't stray too far all that often) I would let it soak in my washing machine filled with hot water and bleach (just soak, don't run a cycle) This seemed to help a lot.
Good Luck! PS We did this with DS as well as DD until he could go standing up.
