Question Potty Training Question

Alyssa is 3 and has been "potty training" for about three weeks now. Everything is going great and she even stays dry through the night (which is a bonus that I wasn't expecting).

Now my question........... When we go away, she will not use the potty in public places. She doesn't have a potty chair at home, she uses the regualr potty with a special seat. How do you make a toddler comfortable to use the potty away from home?

She is in regular underwear at home, but I use disposables when we go out because she'll just go in her pants.

Any tips or ideas will be appreciated!

Thanks,
Lori

We actually brought the potty seat with us. I kept it in my car and carried it in a plastic grocery bag wherever we went, church, grocery store, etc. It was much cleaner than using the public toilet and after each use (probably about twice a week - we don't stray too far all that often) I would let it soak in my washing machine filled with hot water and bleach (just soak, don't run a cycle) This seemed to help a lot.

Good Luck!
PS We did this with DS as well as DD until he could go standing up.

One step ahead makes one that you can fold up and fit in the diaper bag http://www.onestepahead.com/jump.jsp?lGen=detail&itemID=150774&itemType=PRODUC T&iProductID=150774&change=117&cm_ven=Google&cm_ca t=Top100&cm_pla=Top100&cm_ite=null
