Travel Questions
Hi everyone,
Can all of you who have picked up tell me about your travel plans like which airline, did you make reservations at the last minute, where the good deals are, anything I need to know for when I'm making my travel plans so I don't spend a fortune would be greatly appreciated. I need to stay busy until I get PINK if that is possible. I just hope I don't lose my mind like I did in PGN. Thanks so much.

Pam,
You kinda already know this with me, but we took American on our visit trip and Delta on our pickup trip. Delta was way more accomdating on last minute plans and gave us very reasonable rates when we asked for the adoption fares. They even bumped us to first class on the way there and gave us two extra seats, no charge on our way home. I am sure it had to do with how booked the flights were but I'm also certain noone wanted to sit with us... lol. Any airline you call, ask them about the adoption fare. Sometimes it may be better, other times not. Also, we got stuck in Miami overnight when we took American, but Atlanta was a breeze with customs and immigration when coming back with Delta.

Well we took American which we will probably do again because if you stay at the Marriott you can pre check in and not have to go through the hassel at the airport. They upgraded us to the front of the plane and blocked the third seat in our row. It does pay off though to call around.

Congrats on your exit from PGN!
We did make airline reservations at the last minute. We waited for pink, but wanted to travel as soon as we could after that. For us it was right before Christmas and everything was getting really full, but I got on SideStep and found a terrific last minute deal. We flew Continental and would definitely fly with them again. (The actual reservations were made directly through Continental--it's a little different than like Expedia) Everyone was very friendly and the planes/flights were great. Movies and meals on each leg pretty much. Continental also has a pre-check in desk at the Marriot. (If you don't stay there, you can just get a cab to take you.) We flew through Newark on the way there (and would avoid that place at all costs next time) and through Houston on the way home (immigration was awesome, very simple and EVERYone was so friendly and excited for us). We stayed at the Radisson and our reservations were made through our agency so we got a good corporate rate deal there. And we loved it there.
