3rd Adoption
Hello,
I have heard rumors (probably false) that the U.S. was close to implementing their side of the hague convention which would slow down Guatemalan adoptions. We want to adopt 1 more child, should we start again now or would it be safe to wait a year or so? Feedback is welcomed. Thanks ![]()

In all honesty, I don't think anyone knows what is going to happen when the US finally implements the Hague. Between the Hague and the I-Care Bill, it's probably much more likely that the US government is going to make Guatemalan adoptions harder than it is that the Guatemalan government is going to do it!
Personally...if it were me and I knew I wanted to adopt again, I'd start now, while things are running smoothly. Who knows what the future will bring??

I agree with Becky. Go for it and don't let "news" deter you. If I had waited for the "best time" to adopt, I'd be sitting here without my darlings (and less poorer in the blessings department). Good luck!
