Omg!!!! I Am Going To Get My Baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi listmates,
I cannot believe I can FINALLY post this!!!!! ADDISON IS COMING HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yahoooooo!!!! Today I got a copy of her passport in my email, which was a real thrill to see MY last name on that page, right beside her sweet little kissable face....wow!!! And I got word that the attorney has submitted the papers for the pink slip, hopes to receive PINK on Monday. They asked me to travel Tuesday or later, and so I scheduled my departure for Wed 12th. In my daydreams, for the last couple weeks, I wanted to leave on this date. Wednesday is my BIRTHDAY!!!!! Omigosh, I am getting a 7 month old baby for my birthday!!!!!!!!!! I have not seen her since October, and I can't wait to hold her again and know she is mine for good!!! What a gift, what a wonderful, amazing birthday gift!!!! I plan on traveling Wed 12th and returning home on Sat 15th to a bunch of happy, hysterical, excited friends and family. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Doing the happy dance...... Jen going to get my baby girl in 3 days!! Hang on, Addison...Mommy's on the way!!!!!!!!! YIPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, you guys!!! I'm still in SHOCK and when I woke up this morning, it was so COOL to know it wasn't just a wonderful dream!!!
It's so nice to have everyone cheering me on, I know how we ALL live for these moments!! I hope everyone who is still waiting, is not far behind me!!!! Hugs to all, Jen who is still not quite sure what outfit Addison will wear for Embassy day!!! LOL!

Mommy time, Mommy and Me time
Jen, I'm so happy for you. Happy birthday! Happy new life to Addison! Happy New Year!
I've not read your other posts, just had my eye caught by your signature so thought I would visit your posting history and was lead to this thread. What an adventure you've been having for many months. And you only have a matter of a few days before all your independence becomes completely devoted to your daughter... in other words... now is the time to get your manicure, pedicure, a nice hair cut, maybe a facial, and don't forget shopping like crazy at Target for bibs, burp cloths, smart colorful toys, and the most important tip of all... get plenty of rubber gym mats because your daughter is about ready to cruise and you don't want her precious little head to go whack on a hard floor... oh boy, I just want to come right over and babyproof your whole house... in speaking of which, you don't have time for a manicure, pedicure and facial, you need to get supplies and babyproof, ah! but it's all good stuff. Have you had a baby shower yet? It would be so sweet that while you are in Guatamala, that you buy native made clothes and toys, stock up on as much as you can so that you can giive Addison a little something from her homeland for every birthday, or, you can just get her a really nice blanket or rug and store it for when she turns 18. You can save it for her hope chest. My brother-in-law is from Peru and I have the sweetest nephew. He's Polish-Armenian-Peruvian, so every birthday I try to bundle up a gift set that has something Armenian, something Polish and something Peruvian. it's easier to get the Peruvian and Armenian goodies for some reason. I love those little Worry Dolls. You should definetely get some of those and learn the story and teach Addison how to set her worries aside and let the dolls take care of them for her while she sleeps. Do you know about Worry Dolls? I couldn't have gotten by my childhood without them! Oh, I'm so happy for you. Happy birthday, Mommy. When you hold your little girl in your arms, any bit of doubt that you may have had will just vanish and you will completely know she's all yours and you are the perfect mother for her. Oh, but now I want to tell you to get all your 'selfish needs' out of the way because while I'm completely in love and in joy with being a mom to a little one, I just haven't had a moment to myself until this day... for two years and four months, I have been with my son, 24/7... nursing, co-sleeping, staying at home, playgrouping... there just has been no end, and then my husband's ability to have one-on-one time has greatly declined because he's gone into study more for an extra degree, so it really is all on my shoulders... if this scenario sounds anything like your future... you need a pre-motherhood party break-- maybe take a mini-whirlwind weekend trip just by yourself or with your partner, but do something big and selfish for yourself because in a short matter of time there won't be any "You" left-- you will become transformed into Mother, and it's takes a couple of years before you bounce back to 'your old self' -- now, no fear, all this is great stuff because you're just exchanging one aspect of your life for something totally amazing. try to find a Mommy and Me group that has infants as well as toddlers, and join the group ASAP, even before Addison arrives. You're in the pregnancy stage right now. It will be good for you to make some new mommy friends while you're "pregnant," because they will attach an affection to you and want to be there for you when Addison comes home. Adoptive moms in my Mommy and Me group are always shown the same regard as moms who birthed their children-- every new mom is given meals for the first month because it's tough being a new mother-- you as a new mother won't be able to shower, sleep, eat nutritiously... and you won't do anything for yourself until 2.4 years pass by, and what the heck am I doing online when my husband has taken my son out for the day? I'm on the freaking computer? Am I crazy???? Must be! So Jen, I'll close for now, but you just PM me later and know that in case I don't hear from you for a long time, I won't take it personally... you're about to be sucked into a wonderful whirlwind of never-ending adventures of mommyhood. But I'm here for you in case you need 411 on formula choices, which soft foods to explore, biter biscuits, baby-proofing... cleaning milk stains off your floor and carpet... Congratulations!
