Question bc in guatemala city

Why does it take longer to get a BC in Guatemala city, on average how long does it take and what needs to me done. It seems it would be faster to get it in the city and not outside smaller town. Can someone tell me about the process. We was out of PGN on 10/22 and plan on traveling the week 11/14.

I was just talking to a friend and her BC is in GC and she should have hers within a week of getting out of PGN. However I have seen people wait longer. I know they were bounding there books that the BC were in. I am not sure if they are done with it or not.
My friend waited a long time in PGN though so maybe they are trying to make up for that.

I was in Guatemala City earlier this week, and was told by several people that the Civil Registry in Guatemala City is taking about 5-8 working days (more likely 8 days) to process birth certificates right now. I assume it is because of the size of the city and the number of births. There are just a lot more birth certificates to deal with on a daily basis than in a small town or village. (Ours was supposedly requested 10/19 and hasn't been received yet, so I still don't know from personal experience.)

bc

It is my understanding that since these are all different municipalities or cities. they just all work differently and therefore each has it's own timeframes. Of course, the number of bc coming through that municipality would also affect the timeframd.

I have just returned from a long stay in Guatemala and I have seen people get the birth certificate within a one or two days or in as much as 8 days as well.

I just got back from Guatemala from picking up my little guy. The bc only took 4 days. Getting the pink took longer. One day the Embassy was closed and another day my lawyer went and they stated they were not handing any out that day.

Guatemala City seems to have caught up on all the binding. The Embassy is what seems to be behind now. Remember the Embassy only does pink Monday thru Thursday.

The embassy is not behind. Last week I had a client whose Pink was applied for on Tuesday and received on Thursday. You must have an attorney who is willing to negotiate the line and the wait...but it can still be done in 48 hours.
