my name is Andrea and we brought my duaghter home 5mths months ago. She will be 6 yrs old in November. She is happy and doing very well adjusting. But she is grieving the loss of her birth mother and siblings. It breaks my heart.
We want to make sure she retains her language and culture. I'm looking for other parents in the Indianapolis area who also have Guatemalan children around this age who were adopted when they were old enough to remember Guatemala. I think it would be wonderful for my daughter and another child like her to connect and have this commonality. They could see that they are not alone in their experiences. I think this would really help my little girl through her grief. She connects so well with all ages of children. She had 2 sisters in Guat whom she misses dearly.
If anyone around Indy would like to meet for a play date, message me back. I'm on the SE side of the city, about 15 minutes from downtown. I'm willing to drive an hour to make this connection with someone. I think it would mean the world to our daughter.
