Hi from an "old timer"
Hi all!
I have been continuing to read your posts but just haven't posted much lately. Good luck to everyone in process!!! Thank goodness things are moving a little more smoothly now (this coming from a "Hague" process waiter). As for my two...they are doing AWESOME!!!! Alex is almost 3 (Nov 15) and has been home over two years!!! Ayana is almost 2 (Dec 23) and has been home since January 04. They are growing soooo fast!! One of these days I HAVE to post some pics! I have to do some resizing then I will post! For those of you who have more than two children.....my dh and I are struggling with the decision of whether or not to adopt another child. IF we do this will be our last. It is such a hard decision!!!! Anybody have any good advice? Praying all you waiters have your children home SOON!!!! God Bless, Amy, mom of two Guatemalan angels |

I say go for it!!! Of course, my husband would say I would say that if you had a dozen! We have three and I desperately want to do another. I come from a big family (yes, Catholic) and I want one for my kids. We only had four of us siblings and most of my cousins doubled that!
There is something to a big extended fmaily that I just love! Maybe it is just that the crazy relatives--which I think all families have--are mixed in more! Anyway, good luck with the decision. It is a big one!

Amy,
I'll share something that comes to mind when I hear of people trying to decide whether to add to their family: I have never heard anyone say they wish they hadn't added that last child to the family... However, I have heard many people say they wish they had welcomed more children to their family. Food for thought, Aimee totally unobjective mother of 4 who would love a house full of children ![]() |

Hello, from one old timer to another!
We have decided that our Alex needs a sister so we just started the process of adopting a girl from China. The more the merrier. Most of the people we have told so far have put us in the "crazy relative" catagory. To quote another of the old timers on this forum "Oh Well"! I'd say go for it! John

Good to hear from you!! Sounds like your children are very happy and very blessed. We'd love to see a pic of them soon.
As for a third...if you think you can afford it and that you have enough patience for a third child, then I say go for it! I have three now and it just feels like the right number for us. Every family is different of course. Keep us posted on what you decide! God bless you,

Family size advice? Well, here's mine.
Dh and I have always said that you will never look back and decide that you shouldn't have added another child, but you MAY look back someday and wish you had. So, until we are confident we are done, we're still making plans. Here's more advice.....go for a boy. We've been researching agencies trying to decide what we are going to do, and we've found that there are many agencies who have healthy infant boys WAITING! Consider a boy. We're trying to come up with the money to go for it again. Keep us posted! Good luck! I'd been wondering about you---keep in touch! trice

It's great to hear from you! Like everyone else, I can't wait to see pics of your little ones!
As far as family size goes, each time we were thinking about adding another it seemed like a huge decision. But once the baby was here, it has always felt perfect. I think it's good to think it over and even agonize about the decision alittle. But from our experience, "yes" has always been the right answer. I've also heard that you will definitely know when you are done in terms of family size. I think at 5 children, I am at that point. Of course, it could be that I'm just in that daze because everything is still brand new. But I don't ever remember feeling like our home and family and my heart were completely full like I feel now. It's a great feeling! Good luck in your decisions! Kim
