birthsibling found

I know that there is a group of supporters here that have been following the process of Joselin. When she arrived home with us, her greatest loss was her younger brother. She was responsible for taking care of him in Guatemala and he was placed for adoption before she was. We did not learn about the younger brother until we brought her home.

We are very excited and pleased to announce that we have been able to find her brother. Joselin had been told that he went to France. Originally, he was supposed to go to France, however, we believe that God intervened and he came to the United States instead. This has allowed us the opportunity to find him and has given Joselin the comfort she needed to see that he has a good family and is happy.

What was amazing to me, was that I had communicated with this family during our process and we had even been discussing issues just recently. The family is my3guats and it is Isaac Carlos.

(From my3guats) When we(my3guats)originally heard about Isaac Carlos we were told the attorney was considering working with us even though we were not paper ready but wanted to check to see if there was a family in France waiting for a toddler boy who was paper ready. We figured that no way would there be a family waiting for an older child as most families are waiting for infants. When we got the word that there was a family we were devastated as we had been so sure this was the little boy God had put in my heart months before. We basically put all plans for adoption on hold and then a month later got a phone call from our agency director who was actually visiting Guatemala. I figured she was saying she had another child who we may be interested in and I was already thinking that I really didn't know if we could accept a referral as we had been so! sure God had this little boy and mind and then we were wrong...well what she really was saying was the other family in France had backed out and the referral was ours if we wanted it. So like Felicia I too know that God had a plan for these children and it is so unbelievable almost how it has all worked out. Also like Felicia said the two of us "talked" during our processes some and then since the children have been home. Already we have had some answers to questions in regards to Isaac's background...what a wonderful thing for these two children!

For anyone who is looking for a birth sibling, please do not put your birthmothers full name on this site. You just don't know who is watching. There is a sibling registry set-up where you can look to see if there is a match. If allowed, I would like to give the email address for applying.

This opens a whole new chapter in our lives.

What a great story. I'm sure it is a huge relief for Joselin to know where her brother is.
Looking forward to further updates.
take care-

That is INCREDIBLE. I think that Isaac Carols is precious and I am so glad you found each other...I agree...God intervened on this one.

Congratulations for you and Joselin!

Praise God!

I can't tell you how much I needed to hear this today! I have felt since the end of March that God has placed a sibling set from Russia on my heart (in addition to the twins from Guatemala). I don't know exactly what will happen, but I know He placed them on my heart for a reason....I was really discouraged last night going to bed ~ Your post has reminded me that even when we cannot see, His Hand is guiding and arranging everything to His glory! May God bless both of your families and thank you for the much needed encouragement! Amy

Tell us more about the sibling registry. Is it something that you could register for even if you are unsure if there are any birth siblings?

What an amazing end to a search and new beginning for both families! This really brought a great feeling to this morning for me. Thanks so much for sharing and good luck on the journey ahead. It will now be brighter for both kids.

Felicia and My 3 Guats!

My 3 Guats and I have remained "chatting" friends since the Yahoo PGN group was set up last summer. We actually went to get Parker and Isaac at the same exact time which was so weird as all along we said that it would happen that way. We had the honor of meeting Isaac Carlos and he is such a cutie pie. He is with the best family ever also!!!

When I hear this news. I was just elated as I had also chatted with Felicia a few times as well. I have followed the story of Yoselin and now am just so thrilled that you two have found each other!!! What a great thing for those two kids.!!!!

How neat! God is watching!

registry

A registry has been set up for Guatemala children. You email Jackie at GuatemalaAdopt_SiblingRegistry-subsc...ahoogroups.com and ask to join the registry. She will email you back asking for birthmom information. She only wants the first names and last initial of the birthmom. After giving her the information you will be given a number. This allows you to go to the list and look at the other birthmother names on the list. The more people who sign up, the more there is a chance of finding a match. When I originally looked, I saw that there was a match, but thought for sure that it wasn't mine, so I waited a few weeks to ask for more information! After exchanging last names with Jackie; she told both of us that they matched and then asked us for permission to share email addresses. Once Jackie shares the email addresses, it is up to the families to determine if they are indeed the same birthmom and how much, if any, contact they want to maintain.

You can imagine the shock when I recognized the email address! After emailing I just gave her my phone number to talk since we were already familiar with each other. After talking, we realized that it could possibly be a match. Emailing birthmom pictures sealed it. Also, Joselin recognized him in the referral picture and now carries around a copy of it. She was so excited. We think there may be an 18 month old child as well, so register. You just never know what you will find. I know that in the future, when Isaac is ready, Joselin will be able to provide Isaac a lot of information about his first years in Guatemala.

This is the most wonderful story and a real blessing and joy for all who can hear and share in it! I remember both of your adoptions and can only say what a miracle God has performed here.

I can only imagine how excited Joselin must feel at having information and a picture of the little brother she loves. What a wonderful connection for both of them to have as they grow.

Thank you for sharing!

Patty
