Has anyone come through Atlanta when coming back with baby from Guatemala?
Has anyone ever come back from Guatemala through immigration in Atlanta with their baby? I will be flying Delta and that is their connection. With Madison I went through Miami.....Just wanted some feedback or suggestions...
Thanks SMS Susanne |

We just came back from a visit trip using Delta. (7/13/04) We flew on a tuesday morning got into Atlanta around 11:00am I think...NO LINES!!! We just zipped through customs and everything. Of course we did not have our little one this trip. And I have heard that sometimes the lines are long...but thats not what we experienced a couple of weeks ago.
Good Luck, Brie

We flew through Atlanta and had 90 minutes to get through immigration and connect with our next flight to get to Cincinnati. Our plane was actually early!! THere were no lines and immigration took 15 minutes. We even had time for lunch! We sat near the front of the airplane, and were first in line. There were about 8-10 other families. Everyone made their connection.
Good luck, Maria |

We came home on Tuesday April 27. WE had no problems however, my husband RAN through the airport with all our luggage and baby (and me). We too only had 90 minutes but we were the 2nd in line at customs.
Customs didnt' seem like they were in too much of a hurry although there were about 10 people working there. We went very fast but I would have been concerned if we were later in the line. Our thoughts were "at least if we miss our plan we are in the US". Kim |

We just came back through Atlanta on Delta (my 3 previous trips were thru Houston).
Anyway, we had exactly 2 hours and we were worried we wouldn't make it. There were lines (we went through on a Sat) but they went fast. I think it took about 25 minutes total. You go through the line then they direct you to another room where you place the sealed envelope and baby's passport in a slat. You wait for your turn and the officer calls you up and talks for about a minute (regarding the type of visa she came in on), gave us a paper for reference and sent us on our way. We even had time to stop for lunch (granted we wolfed it down in about 10 minutes flat...got so sick of the airplane food and we were ravenous). Good luck Susanne!

We came home to Atlanta on May 7th (a Friday) and were through customs and immigration in less than an hour. Everyone was really nice and there were no lines at immigration.

We brought Jonah home through Atlanta on Delta in May. No problems whatsoever. We had 90-minutes for our connection and made it through customs and immigration in about 30-minutes. We traveled on a Thursday.
You should be just fine. ![]() Kelley

We are the exception
We flew home on Juen 9th with our little boy. Our flight got in at around 1 and if our next flight at 5:30 hadn't been delayed we would never have made it. It tooks us 1:30 hours to just get to the green room and then took 2:30 hours to get the Visa Processed. This gav eus less than 30 mintues to get through customs recheck our bags and then make our flight.
Two military planes got in around the same time as our flight.
