FBI clearance?

Hi,

I am confused about something. We are in the middle of our adoption, waiting pre-approval. We are using a very competent agency. They haven't mentioned anything to me about the following.

Someone told me that their agency said there is a new requirement to get an FBI clearance. They had to get fingerprinted at the police station and then have the prints sent to the FBI. Does anyone know what this is. I thought getting fingerprinted for the I-171H took care of this.

Thanks.

Amy

We had to get one done for our homestudy because we ahd not lived in the state for two years so just a state background check was not enough.

Not sure if that helps or not...

FBI Clearance instead of State

I originally got a local clearance, but some PGN workers are now requiring a state clearance. My state is a closed record state so I had to get an FBI clearance which will cover the state for me.

This was in addition to my I-171H and my homestudy check. I don't think it is a requirement if you have your state clearance.

This subject is fresh in my mind.... We were fingerprinted for the homestudy and for INS..... We have a New York State Police clearance letter and apparently my agency is concerned about us possibly being kicked out for FBI clearance so we did them just in case..... I would go ahead and do it anyway, it takes 6 weeks and then at least you have them in case you get kicked out. I sent mine out yesterday if you would like all the instructions on how to get them done pm me and I will forward you an email my cs sent me! -- good luck!
