Question Who was KO'd for bio kids health letter?

OK...now that I am on to worrying about PGN...that took about 12 hours or so...

Who has been kicked out for the bio kids health letter? I just saw a new post about this...and I dont like it ONE bit!!!

My agency has insisted that they are not seeing this happen...I hope they are right...and they dont see it happen to me...

Anyway...let me know if you have been KO'd for this or even if you have bio kids and were NOT KO'd....

THANK YOU GUYS!!!!

Do you mean kicked out for "lack of" health letter? That I have heard of. My attorney made us get one for each child. It simply said "------- is in good health and free from contagious disease. Signed by the doctor, notarized and authenticated by Guatemalan
consulate.

Nina
Kelly I know what you mean about worrying about PGN. I'm sure you will be fine! If your agency said that you didn't need these forms I would talk to others because not to scare you but I really think that you do. It is easy though. Just have your doctor write them and you can overnight them by fedex to Guatemala.

Hi Kelly,

We have 2 bio kids and I was *very* worried about this. We did not do these letters, though had I known about them prior to entering PGN I would have had them done.

Luckily we weren't kicked out for this, phew! And I haven't heard of anyone kicked out recently for this.

Best of luck!

Hi, We did not have the letters and we were not kicked out for them. Our social worker did require it for the home study and a statement was in our homestudy that he was healthy and had no contagious diseases. See if your homestudy has that in it! Good luck!

Kelly - my agency also says I don't need one. And, like you, I am paranoid about it. In the section of my homestudy that talks about my son, it specifically says that he is healthy, free of communicable diseases and fully immunized. I am interested to hear what you find out. In my case, it wouldn't be that easy to get a letter. I had enormous problems with my dossier because my county clerk's office rejected MANY notary signatures because they weren't totally identical to what was on file. It was ridiculous and I had to redo a few documents 4 times! The notary at my husband's office has a reliable signature, so I ended up bringing most of my people there. A huge hassle. I suppose what I would have to do is find a travelling notary, have them sign something, drive to the county clerk, make sure the signature is OK, then bring the notary to the pediatrician. Ugh. I would rather avoid that if I can!

Unhappy SORRY

Wow, my mistake. Sorry if I scared anyone. Don't worry Kelly, if they didn't kickout anyone else for this then you will be fine!
Sorry again

We've done it both ways in the last 4 months!

With Londy's case, we did NOT need the bio kids' health letter.

But two months later (in May) Jeremy's case was kicked out because our dossier did NOT have the letter. Both dossiers were identical.

The only thing I can come up with is that their cases may have had different family court social workers and different PGN reviewers. We're using the same attorney and agency for both cases.

As a result of recent kickouts for this, our agency is now requiring the letter as part of the dossier. And we DID have a statement in our homestudy about the health of our biological children.

You just never know.

Good luck!

Kim

Just an FYI..... It was not on the original req. for my dossier either but I asked about them (thanks to this site) although I submitted w/out them and the agency swears it is not a req. I am doing them anyway, It will only take a week or two and then I will have it just in case! But again it was not required so I would not worry! My homestudy agency required a health update and it is in my homestudy. Good Luck :-)

Thanks!

Thanks for the info guys...

Although now it just seems as if it is totally the luck of the draw...which reviewer you get, huh? Boy I hope I get the friendly, nice, KIND reviewer who will NOT KO US!!!

OK...so those of you that had to get this letter...what did they request that you state in it? Just general health or are there specific statements? Since my agency says no you dont need them I dont know what to put in there.

THANKS AGAIN..and best of luck to all of you waiting....
