My Big Announcement--good news and bad news!
Dear Friends,
I am both happy and sad as I make this post. I am sad because I have decided to leave my position as hostess of the Guatemala Forum. I can assure you all that I will still be a very active forum member and I will always be available to answer questions, just as I have always done. Now for the good news….I have accepted a position as a Guatemalan Program Coordinator for Children of the World (the agency I used for my own adoption two years ago). I will be partnering with Kelly Caldwell from the guatadopt site. I am so excited to be able to help families adopt from Guatemala. It has been a blessing in my life and it is one that I hope to share with many others. Because I am now working in the field of adoption, I felt it best to give up the hostess position, because I do not wish for there to be any appearance of a conflict of interest on my part or on the part of the forum. The administration of Adoption Forums will be naming a new host/hostess in the near future...and I am sure it will be someone great! I thank you all for the support you have given me over the years, and I look forward to many more years of friendships and fun on the Guatemala Forum!

While I will be sad to see you leave your position as board hostess, I am so EXCITED for you to be living one of your dreams!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! It is very exciting and COTW is getting two great people in you and Kelly. I hope this position works out to be everything you hope for and more! I understand you wanting to share the blessing of adoption and these beautiful children with other families. I too have been thinking about work possibilities in the adoption arena, especially international adoption and Guatemala. Good luck!!! I'm very happy for you. I am so happy for you and for COTW. What a wonderful match! The adoptive families who will be working with you and Kelly are so fortunate! Lucky them! Thank you for all of the support you have given in your position as forum hostess. You have been a God send to me. I can't imagine getting through this process without your advice. You headed me in the right direction from the get go by suggesting agencies to look into. I am so glad I listened to your advice. It made all the difference. I am traveling this weekend to pick up Isabella - four months after receiving my referral - and I am so happy. Thank you. Although I am sad to see you resign as hostess of this forum, I am happy you are following your dream of working in the adoption field and that you will stick around here to continue to offer your support and insights. I have a question for you though. With COTW located in St. Louis and you located in Atlanta--will you be home-officing? What's the scoop? 6/8/04 DNA to embassy 6/21 entered PGN 6/25 KO'd for good customs 7/20 got preapproval!! 7/29 back in PGN 8/20 OUT of PGN (and final decree issued!!!!) 9/18/04 Home with our boy!!!!! And now waiting for preapproval on son #2! Got preapproval, in & out of PGN and now waiting on PINK!! Home with son #2 end of Feb. 2005
